Football is the nation’s favourite sport. If you love the beautiful game, you probably already watch Premier League and Champions League matches on TV regularly, but when was the last time you watched the drama of a match unfold on the pitch right in front of you? If it’s been a while, or if you’ve never been to a professional football match before, now’s the time to get involved. And the good news is that it doesn’t mean paying over-the-odds to watch Premier League Football. You don’t even need a subscription. It’s all here for you at Kenilworth Road – home of Luton Town Football Club. The mighty Hatters. Here’s what to do... 1 2 Choose a game The season’s fixtures are available on our website: www.lutontown.co.uk. Buy a ticket Now you’ve choosen a game you’d like to come and see, buy a ticket for you and your friends. You can do this online, by telephone on 01582 416976 or in person at the ticket office at Kenilworth Road, or at the club shop in the Mall in Luton. Matchday tickets vary slightly depending on categorisation, but below is an illustration of typical prices. So if you want to come to every home game, you'll want to buy a season ticket. Otherwise, you could pick yourself up a hat, a scarf or even a Luton Town shirt from the Club Shop at the ground, the Oak Road Matchday Store, or in the Mall. You can also shop on our online shop: www.hattersworld.com. Click and collect is available, so shop online and pick up in store. 6 In the ground Once you've made your way to the ground, your ticket will show you which entrance you should use. Stewards will help if you're not sure. On Saturdays, turnstiles open at 1:30pm, with the match kicking off at 3:00pm. For midweek evening games, turnstiles open at 6:30 with kick-off at 7:45. Kiosks selling alcoholic beverages, hot drinks and soft drinks as well as traditional matchday food (pies, pasties, hot dogs and burgers etc) are positioned around the ground at reasonable prices. Halal options are also available. 5 getting to the ground We would recommend parking at Luton railway station and either walking to the ground (approx. 15 – 20 minutes) or taking a bus. The Luton Busway routes A, B, C and F70 will bring you directly to the ground just get off at the Clifton Rd stop. A single journey costs £1.40 and takes just 5 minutes, dropping you off very close to the Maple Road entrance to the Club. A footpath also runs along the busway route. You can also take the number 27 from Silver Street or Church Street in the town centre and get off at the bottom of Kenilworth Road. The stadium is situated in a residential area, surrounded by terraced housing with very limited on-street parking. Unfortunately there is no parking available at the ground for standard ticket holders. Parking is available in Luton Town Centre, with car parks at Luton Railway Station, Bute Street and The Mall among others. 8 Jonathan Smith 9 Get clued up Our matchday programme costs just £3 and is packed full of news, interviews, club history, facts, figures, comment and photographs. It’s a great souvenir of the day, and will leave you feeling like an aficionado in no time. Enjoy the Match Sing along with your mates and the other fans, cheer on the players, help the referee with his decisions and go nuts when we score. THE PROSTATE CANCER UK STADIUM On the 24th March 2015, for our televised match against Wycombe Wanderers, we made the historic step of changing the name of our stadium in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. This innovative campaign caught the public's imagination and made headlines around the world. The Club and its supporters raised a massive £10,000 for the charity as well as helping raise awareness of the disease, the charity and their work. A level playing field Football should be open to everyone. We're helping to promote access and inclusion for all with the help of the Luton Town Disabled Supporters Association (LTDSA) and Level Playing Field. In the past year alone, we've made some big commitments to locally based projects, as well as helping to support some important national charities and initiatives too. Our own charity, Luton Town Community Trust works with many thousands of young people in the town every year and through this work we're giving access to football coaching, and a chance to make friends and enjoy positive experiences. In March 2015, we were awarded full accreditation by the Living Wage Foundation. This followed on from our announcement in December 2014, when we became the first professional football club in England to commit to paying all directly employed staff the living wage. Players, Managers and Staff at the Club have pledged their support to Luton Food Bank, who help provide muchneeded food parcels to families living below the poverty line in the town. poppy shirt auction The Club supports a large number of charitable causes throughout the year. In November 2014, we helped to raise over £5,000 for the Royal British Legion by auctioning special match-worn poppy emblem shirts.
