Weekly Sastra
"Those with the vision of eternity can see that the imperishable soul
is transcendental, eternal, and beyond the modes of nature. Despite
contact with the material body, O Arjuna, the soul neither does
anything nor is entangled." Bhagavad-gita 13:32
Featured Devotees: Grhasta Couple Gauraraya
das and Sundarangi devi dasi
Gauraraya das, originally from Ireland and
Sundarangi devi dasi from New Zealand, have
been in the grhasta asrama for 5 years.
Gauraraya das became a disciple of Sivarama
Swami after joining the Krsna Consciousness
movement in 1986 at Bhaktivedanta Manor in
the UK. His wife, Sundarangi devi dasi, was
introduced to Krsna Consciousness eight years
ago at the bhakti lounge in New Zealand. She
has since received initiation from HH Devamrita Swami.
Three years ago, Gauraraya and Sundarangi followed the instruction of HH Devamrita
Swami to serve in America in order to assist with the development of the Gita Nagari farm
community and Philadelphia outreach programs.
Currently, their main service is preparing prasadam for Sunday feast, in addition to
participating in and leading outreach programs, books distribution efforts, kirtans and
university preaching. For Sundarangi, never forgetting to put Krsna in the center and
supporting each other in devotional service is essential to their marriage.
Gauraraya comments that "having a partner in Krishna Consciousness is a great blessing
because one has the constant association of a devotee. One of our favorite past times
together is reading The Krishna book."
Thank you for your service!
Seva Opportunities for Upcoming Events
If you are like many, you may have a strong desire to serve Krsna and the temple but work,
have a family and/or aren't sure how you can get involved. As you know, we celebrate many
auspicious occasions throughout the year and for most, we have special programs and festivals.
Much work goes into planning and implementing these events and we often need a lot of
additional help.
We'd like to invite you to sign up for a seva opportunity for your favorite upcoming event and
help us in planning these wonderful celebrations in service to Krsna and Srila Prabhupada.
Opportunities include decorations, prasadam coordination, kirtan, garlands and more. Many
services can even be done from your home.
Please click on the Seva Opportunities link below to find out what is available for each event.
Once you have selected your service and event, please email Wendy at
wendyromig@gmail.com.

Radhastami 2015 Celebration Highlights
Many thanks to all of those who came out on a
Monday evening to celebrate the appearance of Srimati
Radharani.
This year's Radhastami featured the reading of Sri
Radha's names along with an abhishek, traditional
dance, kirtan and lecture by HH Devamrita Swami. We
hope everyone enjoyed the festivities and received the
mercy bestowed by Radha for our devotional service.
"(Therefore) Radha is parama-devata, the supreme
goddess, and She is worshipable for everyone. She is
the protectress of all, and She is the mother of the entire universe." - Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi
