ARTE is partnering the Seville European Film Festival
(2 to 10 November)

ARTE is partnering the Seville European Film Festival and is sponsoring the Agnès Varda
retrospective, which features 8 short films and 11 films and documentaries including the
ARTE co-production “The Beaches of Agnès”.
ARTE also features in the festival line-up with five other co-productions:

Paradise: Love by Ulrich Seidl
Leones by Jazmín López (International Relations ARTE Prize)
Tabu by Miguel Gomes
Our Children by Joachim Lafosse
On November 3, an ARTE Gala event on the co-production of Leos Carax’ Holy Motors
was held, attended by André de Margerie, Director of International Relations at ARTE
France.

Israel
France-Israel Cinéma-TV-Animation Forum #2
(17 November to 20 November)

ARTE is taking part in the Franco-Israeli Audiovisual Forum organised by the French
Institute of Israel in Tel Aviv. This year, the institute is celebrating the 10th anniversary of
the cinema agreement between France and Israel. The forum schedule includes roundtables, meetings and screenings of feature-length and short films which will enable
French and Israeli professionals to showcase their country’s productions. ARTE will be
presenting:
-
the animated short Edmond was a Donkey by Franck Dion,
five episodes of the animated series The Darwinners by Jul, alias Julien Berjeaut
five episodes of the series The Wrinkled Minute by Fabrice Maruca
the two first episodes of The Church Men by Rodolphe Tissot.
Judith Louis, Director of the Drama department and André de Margerie, Director of
International Relations at ARTE France will be attending the Forum.

ARTE Week in Ramallah
(18 November to 22 November)

ARTE and the Franco-German Cultural Centre of Ramallah are organising a special
programming. It will feature ten documentaries and films:

On November 19, there will be a special evening event to inaugurate the ARTE Week
with the screening of the film Héritage/Inheritance at the Al Kasaba cinematheque, at
which actress and director Hiam Abbass and producer Nicolas Blanc (Agat Films) will be
present.
André de Margerie and Judith Louis will be in Ramallah.

TorinoFilmLab
(25-27 November)

ARTE is partnering the TorinoFilmLab.
Since 2008, the TorinoFilmLab has organised a series of workshops in which young
scriptwriters, directors and producers make improvements to their projects with the help
of scriptdoctors. The writing and pitch preparation workshops culminate in the
TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event, during which the participants present their projects to the
producers, buyers and professionals who have come to Turin.
Michel Reilhac, Executive Director of ARTE France Cinema and Annamaria Lodato,
Head of Communications at the International Relations Department will be in Turin to
award the 6,000-euro “International Relations ARTE Prize” to the best feature-length
project.
