Darlene Horan Walks 300 Miles
And Raises over $11,000 for
Breast Cancer Research
WE APPRECIATE YOU.
Bruce Thompson (FM)
Parting Shots from Prestonwood Park’s
Thanksgiving Celebration
Darlene, from our Plano office,
walked for her 5th year in the 60
mile-3 Day Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Walk in
November. Darlene says, “We
gave our heart, soul, sweat and
tears for three days and we
created some remarkable
memories along the way. The
blisters, the aches and the cold
nights and cold mornings, are
nothing compared to what breast cancer patients have to
deal with on a daily basis. We continue to walk because
everyone deserves a lifetime and we MUST find a cure.”
It all began on Friday, Nov 7th, at 6am, with an inspiring
Opening Ceremony at Southfork Ranch in Parker, TX. The
theme song from "Dallas" kicked off our 60 mile journey.
On Sunday , there was excitement in the air for the final day
of our journey. We made our way through Addison, Dallas
and University Park all culminating with a beautiful Closing
Ceremony at the picturesque Southern Methodist
University.
The money we raised will go a long way to helping Susan G.
Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust
Breast Cancer Fund save lives. The 2008 Breast Cancer 3Day was an amazing event. With your help $7.9 million has
been raised. And at this time, I want to thank all of you for
your donations and your support for my 5th year walking.
