Budget Travel Magazine has named Owego, New York, the “Coolest Small Town in America!” This spring the magazine ran a contest and more than 100,000 votes were cast for the 22 towns selected.to vie for this contest. Over 20,000 votes were cast for Owego along with comments, photos, and videos sent in by Owego fans.\ To be considered a “Cool Town,” the contest required a village to have the following characteristics: • • • great ART GALLERIES and country shops, good coffee and restaurants, and a small town atmosphere that people missed when they went to the “big city” A “picture postcard town” with “gorgeous outdoor beauty, fierce local pride, and beautiful architecture” is how writerat the magazine described Owego. This October, Owego will be featured in Budget Travel Magazine which has over 630,000 subscribers and a website with even more viewers: www.budgettravel.com.
