CPP in Hardap
Volume 1, Issue 1
CPP launched in Hardap
Inside this issue:
The Hardap Region was not part of those regions selected in the beginning, but
came in as a result of request from the Regional Council. As such, the contract
was signed in June 2010. The reason why we decided upon 4 sites is because of
the small inputs required and that most of them are existing projects.
Potential Sites and projects from all six constituencies (Gibeon, Mariental Urban and Rural, Rehoboth West/East and Rural), were identified and proposed
during CPP inception workshop in July 2009 held at Mariental. The task team,
discussed at length and reaches consensus to consider the most poverty stricken
constituencies ( Rehoboth Rural, West, Mariental rural and Urban) in providing
support.

NDT stands for Namibia Development Trust. It is an indigenous non-governmental organization. It was
founded in 1987 by different civil society organizations to channel aid from the European Commission to
“Victims of Apartheid”. It later transformed itself in playing an active role in community development. NDT
is an NGO. We work with marginalized and historically disadvantaged rural and urban communities to
build their power to act for socio-economic justice and social change. This we do through: Capacity Building, Advocacy Initiatives.
NDT is guided by approaches that emphasize people centeredness and people’s participation. We continuously learn and reflect towards innovative development practices.
