Nardoni with local participants 1 National Workshop on Accreditation of NCB in Accordance with ISO 17024 A special workshop has been organized by the National Certification Body for NDT (namely the Department of Skill Development) on 23rd to 25th July 2009 at the Cyber Lodge, Cyberjaya. The workshop was attended by about 20 participants representing various organizations that have special interest in this area. The main objective of this workshop was to finalize the production of a Quality Manual, that was prepared through a series of workshop organized earlier by the same Department. This workshop was conducted with the help of an Australian expert, Mr David Barnett, The Honorary Secretary of the Australian institute for NDT (AINDT). While conducting this workshop, Mr. Barnett observed that the Malaysian Certification Body for NDT has complied to most of requirements for accreditation in accordance with ISO 17024. 17024 He expressed his confident that the National Certification Body would be able to complete the manual in few months time and application for accreditation can be submitted to the Department of Standard as early as the first quarter of 2009. The Department of Skill Development expressed their appreciation to all participants that have contributed toward the production of this manual. The talk was delivered by the MSNT President and attended by more than 80 students. Question and answer session at the end of the talk has been very successful in giving pictures on the situation of NDT in Malaysia to these students.
