Every hour, princely style of home is shown with expensive furnishings, chandelier and und exquisite cloths from two centuries. A tour in the museum guides you through impressive halls and living rooms. Discover the library of landgrave Marie or the dowry of Alexandra, the daughter of a tsar. The english landscape park offers ornately sculptures, romantic places, a lot of historic trees and obscure channels. Two pavilions from the Baroque Age appear until today in a breath-taking magnificence. _______________________________________________________________________________ HISTORICAL SITE INSPECTION AT SCHLOSSHOTEL KRONBERG The Schlosshotel Kronberg has been built in 1889 for Victoria Empress Friedrich (1840 bis 1901) and was named „Schloss Friedrichshof“. The architect was Ernst von Ihne, who has built the castle in memory of her passed away husband Empereor Friedrich III. He died 99 days after his coronation. In 1894 „Schloss Friedrichshof“ has been finished and Empress Victoria moved into her new home. In World War II “Schloss Friedrichshof” was spared, but afterwards occupied by the Americans and used as a casino. Since 1954 “Schloss Friedrichshof” is the grand hotel Schlosshotel Kronberg. The name of the village points out that the castle was built on the estate of the Staufens. The time of the settlement is not exactly known. It is verified that the pentagon tower is the oldest part of the castle. The ruins of the castle have an accessible tower which is 44m high.
