This was the second visit PC Twigg had paid to the school and each time she visited she spent time with pupils from the Green Group: Kevin, Jack, Reece and Dane and the Blue Group: Lucy, Kayleigh, Shane and Connor. On her first visit PC Twigg arrived in a police van and the pupils in the green group had the opportunity to sit in the cage at the back of the van and be locked in. It was a scary experience and the pupils said they would not like to be in the van in any other circumstances. On her second visit PC Twigg let the pupils sit in her squad car and take turns of setting the sirens off and turning on the blue lights. The pupils really enjoyed the experience. In the class room PC Twigg talked about the serious issue of young people being picked up by the police, of the types of offences young people are arrested and charged with and the serious longterm effects that having a criminal record can have on a young person’s future. The behaviour of our pupils on both occasions was exemplary and they loved asking PC Twigg lots of questions about her role as a police officer for the last 25 years. PC Twigg will be a regular visitor now at Parkside House School BRATIONS E L E C & S D R AWA s ce Award Attendan ndance Gold Atte Hi g hes t 1st D ane Cre d it E Tur arn 2nd nbu er ll = Luc yF 1 045 erg 3rd cre uso Jac d it s n 10 kC 3 5 cr hish edit o lm s 860 cre d it s on 100% Reece Gall olson 99% Kevin Nich on 97% Kyle Fogg own 96% Connor Br ters 97% Shane Cha uson 96% Lucy Ferg The following pupils all received Achievement Awards for exceptional work throughout the year within that subject area.
