We have three wonderful teachers who are not assigned to a specific classroom. We call them our “float” teachers. They are ready to go where they are needed on any given day… at any given moment! (By the way, if your child is not fond of dear ole’ Santa please let his/her teacher know in advance-we want this to be a happy experience!) NO JESUS, NO PEACE Turn on the TV to watch the news and it sure sounds like peace, as described in the Bible, isn’t easy to find! But at that very first Christmas, angels appeared to some shepherds and declared that peace had arrived! In just one single verse in the Bible, we find out where to find true PEACE; “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth PEACE to men on whom His favor rests.” That very first Christmas, PEACE came from God as a tiny little baby and dwelt in our world. PEACE comes to us from God through Jesus. I once saw a bumper sticker that said, “Know JESUS, know PEACE; No JESUS, no PEACE!” So true! If we really want to know and have PEACE, we have to know JESUS, the PRINCE OF PEACE! During this most special Advent and Christmas season, I am going to make a sincere effort to make sure I keep JESUS close in my heart and focus on my relationship with Him. PEACE is really about knowing Jesus and having a personal relationship with Him. He wants us to be fearless and peaceful persons. He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid. Jesus “peace” doesn’t make sense to the world…it surpasses all understanding.” It only makes sense to those who believe. This peace enables believers to remain calm in the most fearful of circumstances; to rejoice in pain and suffering; to rest in His love no matter what is going on around them; and to be a sanctuary of His PEACE for others to see. Each day during Advent, I am going to try to give Jesus a gift that He would appreciate. I won’t spend a penny ‘cause Jesus doesn’t need “stuff.” I can give Him gifts like devotion, time, thoughts, words, and offerings. I can use my mouth, heart, hands, feet, and mind to give His gifts of PEACE and JOY to the world…at least to my little corner of the world! This month our virtue is PEACE. I am especially blessed and joy-filled because I get to share God’s very special gift, JESUS, with all the children at Littlest Angels whose eyes are filled with wonder and whose hearts and minds are ready to “let Him come in.” The children will be sharing their Christmas joy at our Young Child’s Christmas Service, “Christmas in Our Jammies,” on Tuesday, December 15 at 6:00 p.m. We’d love to have you join us! May your hearts and homes be filled with the joy and PEACE that comes from knowing the Babe in the manger…the PRINCE OF PEACE! KNOW JESUS, KNOW PEACE! Kathy Stinson, Director LITTLE BUNNIES NEWS The holidays are a magical time, especially for two year olds! Most of them are really seeing it all for the first time. Take time to enjoy the love, lights, sparkle, sweet smells, and joy that the season brings – like you are seeing it for the first time through the eyes of your two year old. Say I will not be boundI’m so busy – I don’t see How Santa gets around. Leland B. Jacobs It’s that magical time of year! The joyous holiday season is here…a time of giving, sharing, and celebrating our Heavenly Father’s greatest gift – JESUS! Through the month of December we will be exploring the Christmas story, learning new songs and poems, and decorating our classroom. We will see that JESUS came for everyone by exploring unique customs for celebrating “Christmas around the World.” Your children will be encouraged to make gifts and cards for whomever they want. No matter how lumpy, sticky, or imperfect – they are surely a gift from the heart. Academically, we will have many projects that we create throughout the coming weeks. We will continue to work on social skills that express feelings with kindness and patience. We will review letters L, F, T, O, E, H, I, and C and continue counting our way to 100 days of school. In the midst of busy holiday schedules, here are some great ideas for family time this month: have a baking party with a friend or two, make family Christmas cards to share, help wrap Christmas gifts together, deliver foods and gifts to charities and distribute to those in need, and/or play soft Christmas music instead of watching TV. Be on the lookout for fun with our Scavenger Hunt! A list that will be making its way to your child’s folder soon! Share the JOY and SPIRIT of the SEASON! Teacher Staci and Teacher Lori Merry Christmas!
