The winning low-gross team at the October 16 event was Larry Hoffman, Matt Hoffman, Robbie Blakely, and Mike Klein, all long-time friends of Benedictine “This is always such a terrific day of golf and knowing it supports such a deserving cause as helping people with disabilities makes it even better,” commented Hoffman, who is president of the Benedictine Board of Trustees. The winning low-net team included the foursome from J.M. Mullen Electric consisting of John and Joe Mullen, Simon Cooper and David Chomicki. Leading corporate sponsors of the tournament included PNC Bank, Hertrich Honda of Easton, Greystone Merrill Lynch, Kelly Distributors, Grasonville VFW Post 7464, Chesapeake Bay Cruises and Choptank Electric Cooperative. Golfers received custom embroidered cooler bags by Benedictine Graphics, a great brunch and a dinner featuring a seafood bar of unlimited oysters and shrimp. A live auction offered attractive packages of outings, restaurant certificates, Southwest Airlines round trip tickets to any city in the U.S., a weekend stay in New York City and a St. Michaels crab feast. One auction package included a basketball signed by the entire University of Maryland 2015 Men’s Terrapins’ team. Golfers took a chance to sink a putt for a 50/50 pot of cash. For these and many other reasons, this tournament is one of the region’s premiere golf tournaments. Providing opportunity to live meaningful, productive lives in communities of choice, Benedictine helps children and adults with developmental disabilities reach their greatest potential without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, or age.
