Welcome to
this year’s
Guardian
Angel Knitting
Program
Now in its 17th year, the Guardian Angel Knitting Program has given the
gift of warmth to over 2 million people in need through the generosity of
our amazing Guardian Angel knitters.
This year we are excited to announce that we are partnering with the Kids
with Cancer Foundation – an organisation that provides assistance for
children undergoing treatment for cancer.
WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
To become a Guardian Angel and warm the hearts of seriously ill children
all over Australia please grab your knitting needles and one of the patterns
from this book and get clicking!
Once you have completed your beautiful woollen garment, simply take it to
your local Guardian Pharmacy (by September 30 2015). The Kids with Cancer
Foundation will then distribute the specially knitted items to a seriously ill child
or family member. Visit guardianpharmacies.com.au to
find your nearest pharmacy.
OUR SMALL THANK YOU
Every year we are blown away by the skills and
generosity of our Guardian Angels. So when you
bring your donation in to our store we would
like to thank you by presenting you with a
2015 Guardian Angel collector pin (while stocks last).
We hope you wear it with pride knowing you
have made a difference by knitting for need.

IN ASSOCIATION WITH
KIDS WITH CANCER
Kids with Cancer provides much needed assistance for the youngest of
children who are going through cancer treatment. This assistance at the
basic level comes to the child’s family when they can no longer pay the
family’s day-to-day household bills. Through social workers in all Australian
children’s hospitals we are put in contact with such families on a daily basis.
Children’s hospitals are often only in the capital cities however many families
live in country areas. These families can be torn apart when their child needs
to attend treatment and a parent needs to be constantly at their side. We
can relieve some of the burden by paying household bills; electricity, gas,
rates, rent or mortgage, school fees, car repairs etc.
YOUR KNITTED GIFT
The Kids with Cancer Foundation fund only Australian children’s hospitals
and families being treated for cancer within these hospitals. Sadly cancer has
no age limit and sometimes the youngest of newborn babies can suffer with
cancers or leukaemia. A warm knitted gift will provide these children with a
level of comfort that only a handmade item can give. Your knitted gift will be
distributed nationally to all paediatric cancer wards, cancer families and end
of life respite centres. Not to be sold but freely given so that the children
suffering from cancer can take advantage of such a wonderful gift.
