OVERVIEW This course is designed for those teaching/training Vocational Education (VET). The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a high level qualification which will qualify successful candidates to train within any Vocational Education environment. Participants will learn: about the national VET agenda and relevant frameworks how to design training programs how to deliver and assess competency based training etc. 2. PROGRAM STRUCTURE To obtain this qualification, ten (10) units of competency must be achieved. Two of these are electives (those bolded). PATHWAYS INCLUDING RECOGNITION There are a number of pathways to achieving the qualification OR to achieving a Statement of Attainment for those who only wish to complete a particular field/stream. The pathways are: Face-to-face combined with completion of work in own time. Candidates attend a series of workshops and tutorials run by Worklinks and then complete further requirements in their own time. Online training. Candidates complete the 7 units ONLINE after gaining RPL for the 3 units that most teachers will be eligible for. Assessment-only. This enables TAE candidates to prove competency by completing the assessment component of the course only, without participating in training. Secondary teachers may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the following units of competency, on receipt by the RTO of all appropriate RPL evidence: TAEDEL401A TAEDEL402A BSBCMM401 Plan, organize and deliver group-based learning Plan, organize and facilitate learning in the workplace Make a presentation It is POSSIBLE that some teachers may be eligible for additional recognition; however, this will depend entirely on the individual teacher’s prior experience and qualifications. A blanket assumption cannot be made about which (if any) units of competency teachers or others may gain recognition for – as indicated, it will vary from individual to individual. DURATION The courses are offered flexibly to enable learners to ideally complete the qualification within twelve (12) months. 5. NATIONAL RECOGNITION Worklinks Inc. will recognise qualifications and/or Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) based in any State/Territory of Australia. 6. ACCREDITATION The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 is nationally accredited. TARGET GROUP Secondary teachers Experienced tertiary teachers ASSESSMENT Assessment varies from unit to unit; however, overall assessment is through a combination of written questions, scenarios, workplace and other projects and assignments. Course options include some work-based tasks that require learners to compile a range of evidence to demonstrate competency. 9. PREREQUISITES Participants will also need to either belong, or have access to, an organisation that delivers VET programs. Therefore this course requires participants to have: high level literacy and numeracy levels in order to succeed; reasonably high level computer skills, in order to adequately complete assessment tasks; considerable work in own time and commitment to undertake that work. OUTCOMES On completion of this qualification learners should be able to: Use Training Packages to develop learning programs Provide training though instruction and demonstration of work skills Facilitate individual and work-based learning Plan and conduct assessment Assess competence Develop assessment tools and participate in validation. A nationally-recognised Certificate will be issued where the full requirements of the qualification have been met. A Statement of Attainment will be issued listing the units of competency satisfactorily completed if the full qualification has not been completed. Participation in this course may contribute towards a number of the professional standards for Queensland teachers, Queensland College of Teachers, as part of their continuing professional development. 11. COSTS AND INCLUSIONS All costs include learning materials, assessment, ongoing support and certification on successful completion. 12.1 Specific prices will be negotiated with schools who are ‘members’ of Worklinks or organizations who have large numbers of participants requiring training at the one time. 13. FEES, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS 13.1 Course Fees The fee structure Please see enrolment form for current fee. The following policies/procedures apply: No participant in a fee-for-service program can commence until all fees are paid by the stipulated due date; and Fees will be deposited directly into a specified account, allowing refunds to be accommodated when necessary. For those not completing all units, full payment is required prior to course commencement. 13.2 Application for Refund To apply for a refund, the Application for Refund form must be full completed. No application will be completed without this. The following refund principles apply: Where five or more days notice is given prior to the course commencing, fees will be refunded in full minus a $100 administration fee Where less than five days notice is given prior to the course commencing,50% of the first instalment— paid on enrolment—will be refunded (i.e. 25% of the total course cost) Once the participant has commenced the course, no refund will be given, accept in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the CEO 14. ADDITIONAL RPL AND CROSS CREDITS RPL and Cross credits (note, this is in addition to the RPL already included for teachers). Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) OR Partial Training and Partial RPL $99 per unit up to a total cost of $745 Cross Credits—$55 per unit. COURSES IN REGIONAL AREAS Workshops can be arranged in regional areas subject to minimum numbers. Trainer travel costs and a small additional surcharge may apply.
