Artistic expression can be maximized when you have a deep understanding and appreciation of the basic principles of haircolor, design, finishing, science, texture and business. Principles empower the salon professional because they enrich their talents. When you know what the results of an action will be in advance, and you understand the “WHY” behind it, you are rewarded with confidence! The principles that inform our foundations are universal, timeless and cannot be broken. All of these attributes give our education programs a point of difference, cohesive structure, creative formats and inspiring strength. DESIGN HAIRCOLOR TEXTURE FINISHING Learn how to approach any design using the principles of shape, head form, movement, line and types of graduation so you can analyze any cut and recreate it with ease. Gain a clear understanding of haircolor principles , including the law of color, the color wheel, level system, hair composition and the different types of haircolors and processing solutions to empower yourself and your color services. Understanding the basic principles of chemistry—including breaking of bonds, restructuring and neutralizing– to learn how to create traditional and modern textured results, from sleek and straight to curly and tousled. Using the principles of shape, silhouette and form, explore new blow-drying, curling and flat iron techniques, the advantages of different types of brushes and tools, plus product formula and placement to take your finishing skill to the next level. MEN’S BUSINESS TRAINING SCIENCE Utilizing the principles of design and haircolor, learn to work with razors, clippers and shears in new ways to create both traditional and trendsetting looks. Using proven principles, discover ways to increase your earning power, client retention and retail sales while improving your salon environment for both your staff and clients. Specifically for Redken facilitators and educators, the discipline teaches the principles of the “learner focus process” and enhances interaction and personal connection when presenting Redken products, programs and philosophies. Use scientific principles including physics, biology and pH to understand the effect of water, heat, chemical solutions and product formulations on the hair. Over all, our salon is up by about 9%, after switching to Redken and attending the SSBC. It is important to have a system and a way to grow your business. The SSBC program takes the pressure off the salon owner and teaches how to implement the system. It taught us what to do to build our team and let them build their own business. Our salon is now growing through them.” -Alberto & CO Hair and Body Care - North Delta, BC Alberto & Adriana Cirillo - Salon owners “Even though my salon is not a big company, I can still manage it in an orderly fashion, have a vision and be structured.
