Sweet
Season
Created by Kristine Lane and Paulette Werger
The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen’s 2015 Annual
Ornament, called Sweet Season, is a hand-formed cast pewter
maple tree adorned with a sap bucket. Kristine Lane and
Paulette Werger, both juried in metal by the League, created
this ornament to celebrate New Hampshire’s spring-time
tradition of maple sugaring. Each ornament is hand signed
and numbered by Kristine and Paulette.

Workshops: Hands on Projects!
Children’s Workshop: Tools for Kids with Dave Emerson: Try your hand at using early
American tools like planes, lathes and drills. Pre-register at Information Tent K. No fee.
All-Ages Workshop: Printmaking with Bill Mitchell: Printmaking (except Sunday, August

9 ): Participants of all ages will design and print their own images. Pre-registration at
Information Tent K. No fee. All-Ages Workshop: Outdoor Sculpture Building with Mark Ragonese. No fee.
All-Ages Workshop: Pottery School with Wendy Jackson: Learn a variety of pottery
techniques on the wheel throughout the day. Pre-registration at Information Tent K.
$10 fee
Adult Workshop: Glass Blowing with Harry Besett: Make beautiful glass objects using a
variety of materials and tools. Pre-register at Information Tent. $75 fee

Demonstrations: Watch and Learn!
Artistic Blacksmithing with Garry Kalajian: Traditional blacksmithing will be demonstrated,
including heating iron and steel bars in a coal forge and shaping them on an anvil with hammer
blows and struck tools. In addition to a traditional blower, Garry will have a hand operated
blower operated by an exercise bicycle. Fair-goers will have the opportunity to assist in some
aspects of the process.
Woodworking: Guild of NH Woodworkers, Granite State Woodcarvers, Granite State
Woodturners and Granite State Luthiers.
Reflections in Glass with Harry Besett: Watch Harry design and produce contemporary glass
using traditional and innovative glass blowing techniques.

Jewelry with Anne Hanson: See many of the methods that go into making jewelry, including
creating texture with a roller mill and hammer, shaping, soldering, polishing, and finishing.

Ceramics with Maureen Mills and Steven Zoldak: Watch as Maureen and Steven create
handmade functional and decorative stoneware. Both potters excel at teaching and
demonstrating their own unique surface design techniques..

Raku Pots with Richard Foye: Be amazed as pre-fired pots are heated to 1600 degrees!
Various combustibles will be added to cause crackle smoked effects and metallic luster. The
finished piece will be displayed and the results explained.
Tent I – Demo/Sales

Beading with Deb Fairchild: Explore beading techniques and try your hand at beading on
looms; bead embroidery; off-loom beadweaving and bead stringing; and make a simple beaded
piece to take with you using a beadweaving or stringing technique.
Printmaking with Matt Brown: Learn the Japanese hanga printmaking method. This is
multiple wood block technique that uses water, brushes, and a hand-held baren to apply
pressure and hand pull a print.

Living With Craft: The Living With Craft exhibition contains professionally designed vignettes
showcasing the work of our craftsmen. Envision every room of your home decorated with
exquisite handmade craft. You can make your vision a reality. All pieces in the exhibition are
available for purchase or order.
CraftWear: Come and shop in the Fair’s fabulous boutique! CraftWear is brimming with a wide
variety of art-to-wear pieces and award winning jewelry. Find one-of-a-kind clothing, jewelry and
