Montini Catholic Broncos Volleyball Summer Camp Program 2012
New WAVE History
New WAVE was founded in
the fall of 2005 by Westmont
High School’s sophomore volleyball coach
Deidre Dunbar. Deidre, along with Steve
Dowjotas trained 24 junior high players from
the Westmont and Lombard area. The success of the first season led to the addition of
four more age divisions and six additional
teams in 2006. Since then, New WAVE
players have contributed
immensely to many local
high school programs
and are poised to take
their game to the next
level. Currently, New
WAVE has 16 teams,
ages 10-18 years old, last
year, three of its 18’s
entered collegiate
programs on full scholarships to: Long Beach
State, University of Illinois in Chicago, and
Kentucky State University.
Practices held at Montini Catholic High
School, Westmont Park District and other
area locations.

Description: Consistent passing, serve receive and
defense are the determining factor of a team’s success.
We will be training perfect passing techniques that will help
take your passing skills to the next level.
Age: 6th-8th and 9-12th graders
Date: July 9th-13th Time: 1:30-3:00pm Cost: $85.00
Description: Learn how to successfully attack your
opponent from behind the end-line with an aggressive and
consistent serve. We will be teaching basic form and styles
of serving, then advance into the jump float and top spin
serve. We will also be breaking down footwork, aggressive
arm-swings and attacking shots.
