Time Capsule
Transcona’s Centennial Year, 2012
To the Good People of Transcona:
The contents of this Time Capsule indicate a “snapshot” of our great community of
Transcona. We’ve also included some pictures and items unique to the time period
from April 12, 2012 to April 12, 2013.
The Time Capsule was fabricated in Murdoch Mackay Collegiate by student Dayne Docyk with the guidance of instuctors, Gerard Hoorne and Tom Morley.
The Transcona Time Capsule Committee, with the help of many volunteers, was responsible for having this custom made time capsule fabricated and filled with interesting and
relevant “snapshot” information. It was co-chaired by Kenneth Butchart, Brian Hodgert,
and Donna Wyatt. Committee members were Reta Heintz, Erin McIntyre and Reg Wyatt.
This committee operated under the umbrella of the Transcona Centennial Steering
Committee. More information about the steering committee is available in the enclosed
book, “Transcona’s Story-100 Years of Progress”.
The submissions were prepared for preservation by Erin McIntyre and Carolyn Sirett of
the Transcona Historical Museum.
