Malkoff is an architect by training but an internationally known artist by accomplishment. He has been described as the country’s leading arboreal artist. He formerly served as the designated artist of the National Historic Tree Register. A member of the Edisto Island Art Guild and an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild, Susan fell in love with Edisto’s natural beauty. “Indian Shell Mound” by Dee Moseley Donated by Watercolors by Deoma Framed print of an original watercolor depicting the indian shell mound at Edisto Beach State Park as seen from the water in 1994. Dee is a local Edisto artist inspired by the natural world. “American Surrealist: The Art of RIchard Hagerty” Donated by Richard Hagerty Surrealism provides the inspiration for Hagerty’s art, from his earliest dreambased watercolors of the late 1970s to his striking and brilliant oil paintings of today. Richard will create a unique doodle at the Auction, his way of signing the book for the winning bidder. “Return of the Red Gremlin” by William S. Phillips Donated by Dan Ellis This B-17--which led the first 100-airplane daylight raid on occupied France with Tibbets, Ferebee, and Van Kirk on the flight deck, and flew General Eisenhower to Gibraltar to command the invasion of North Africa-- is countersigned by six men who flew and maintained the aircraft during her illustrious career. Framed print numbered 696/1000 and signed by artist. “Winter Wolves” by Nicolas Trudgian Donated by Dan Ellis Nicolas Trudgian’s art captures the FW190s of JG-26 at full tilt, as they power across the spectacular winter landscape in the Ardennes. Flying at tree-top height to avoid radar detection, the Luftwaffe pilots hurtle above German tanks and trucks lumbering towards the battlefront. Signed by WWII German Officers. Framed artist’s proof numbered 52/60. “Combat over the reich” by robert Taylor Donated by Dan Ellis Approaching their target at the oil refinery at Zwickau, 60 miles south west of Dresden, the 452nd Bomb Group’s B-17 Fortresses were bounced by 28 Me262 jets from JG 7. Screaming in from the six o’clock position, the jet pilots singled out the 3rd division just as they began their bombing run. Signed by WWII US and German pilots. Unframed print number 510/750. Richard Sloan Framed Prints Donated by Susalee Sasser Richard Sloan was an accomplished American wildlife artist, known for paintings of birds, exotic animals and rainforests. His paintings have been exhibited at the National Geographic Society’s Explorers Hall, the American Museum of Natural History, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Gilcrease Museum, the Royal Scottish Academy and numerous other museums and galleries.
