Sport Catapult Let the game begin What you will need: • Cardoard tube • Cardboard ring • Thick cardboard 1 • Plastic bottle cap • Ice-lolly stick • Clothes peg Black felt-tip White crayon Kitchen towel Tape roll Take the cardboard tube and cut it lengthways – ask a grownup to help you with all the cutting – so you can roll it up. Tape it so it’s nice and tight. Attach the sticky tape ring to the top. Use the tape to cover the hole at the top of the stand. Take the base of the cardboard, leave a space behind the stand, and attach the tube onto it. Make sure you tape it well – there you have your court! 2 To make the launcher, attach the bottle cap to one end of the lolly stick. Then glue the lolly stick to the top of a peg. Then glue the launcher onto the cardboard base and leave to dry. If you can’t get hold of a wooden clothes peg, you can always use a plastic one, but instead of glue you will need to use strips of paper and Art Attack paste - a mix of half glue and half water - to stick it on. 3 Cover the cap with newspaper and Art Attack paste to make sure it remains strong and doesn’t come undone when you start to play. Take the hoop you created earlier and apply some Art Attack paste. Make sure you cover the cardboard tube and all the joins as well. Finally, to make the ball, take a sheet of kitchen towel and add some glue. Then roll it up into a ball. ©Disney disneyjunior.co.za 1 Sport Catapult 4 5 6 ©Disney Paint the basketball hoop silver and the ball orange, so it’s nice and bright. Use a black felt-tip, highlight the lines of the net. With a white crayon, draw the court onto the base. Take a sticky tape roll and draw halfway around it in front of the basket. Do this at the end of the court too. Then draw two lines that go from the semi-circle in front of the basket to the upper corners of the court. To finish, draw a straight line around the edge of the court. Now all you have to do is position the launcher, aim and …fire! disneyjunior.co.za 2
