Center for Life Enrichment in collaboration with Atlanta Wine School September 13 - 17, 2016 Exploring Wines of the Willamette Valley, Oregon 4 DAYS AND 4 NIGHTS OF DELICIOUS FOOD, BEAUTIFUL WINES AND AMAZING SCENERY Led by Donna Woods, CSW and WSET, Atlanta Wine School Graduate and former co-owner of Lakeside Restaurant in Highlands, NC Your Itinerary* Day 1: Meet at Portland Airport for Black Tie Transportation to lunch at a popular Portland restaurant and then a visit to a small boutique winery, before traveling to The Grand Hotel in Bridgeport, our home for the duration of the trip. Dinner will be at a very popular restaurant in Dundee. Day 2: This full day includes visits to 5 wineries, including a picnic lunch at Bergstrom and dinner at Anne Amie. Day 3: Today you will be treated to a special tour, tasing and private lunch at one of the “50 Greatest Wineries of the World” Domaine Serene! Following our special time at Domaine Serene, we will be the guests at Archery Summit for a private Signature Tasting. For the rest of the afternoon we will be in the charming, historic town of McMinnville, where we will have time on our own to explore this quaint town, which was named by “Bon Appetit” magazine as the “Foodie Town of Oregon”. We will finish our day at one of the hottest new restaurants in the Willamette Valley. Day 4: More sipping and tasting at three incredible wineries including lunch at Mineral Springs Ranch and home of Soter Estate vineyard. Dinner will be at The Painted Lady, Oregon’s only AAA four diamond and Forbes four star restaurant. Day 5: Airport transfers take you back to Portland for the return trip home. Tour Leader This trip is hosted by Donna Woods, Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Atlanta Wine School Graduate. Donna is former co-owner of Lakeside Restaurant in Highlands, NC. She helped to grow Lakeside’s wine list into a 13+ year Wine Spectator Award winning wine list. Donna and husband Marty’s extensive winter travels to wine regions in France, Italy, Portugal, South Africa and of course, California, Oregon, Washington, New York and even New Mexico and Arizona, have given her wonderful first-hand opportunities to enjoy and learn more about wine. Donna will guide you to a love of Pinots, not just the famous Pinot Noir, but Pinot Gris (Grigio in Italy) and Pinot Blanc. Willamette Valley also produces award winning Chardonnays, Syrahs and Cabernet Sauvignon, but the crown in their cap is always the Pinots. Flight Information Sept 13: Fly (on your own) to Portland airport. There is one Delta non-stop flight that departs Atlanta at 9:45 a.m. and arrives in Portland at 12:45 p.m. Transportation from the airport to our destination will be available for this flight only. Sept 17: To take advantage of airport transfers, there are two Delta flight to Atlanta. You may take either flight but these are the two times for transportation. Option #1 - Transportation departs to airport from hotel at 6:30 a.m.. Flight departs PDX at 9:00 a.m. and arrives in Atlanta at 4:46 p.m. Option #2 - Transportation departs to airport from hotel, 10:30 a.m. Flight departs PDX at 1:00 p.m. and arrives Atlanta at 8:46 p.m. Option #3 - Stay a few more days and experience more fun in the beautiful Willamette Valley, Portland or other great Oregon towns (on our own). This package includes 4 nights at The Grand Hotel at Bridgeport, ground transportation every day, all day, including airport transfers (as per stated flight times above). Transportation is on your own should your flight times not come within those stated above. Trip includes 4 Breakfasts, 4 Lunches, 4 dinners, all tastings, tours and excursions, including wine! Also a special wine host at wineries and a knowledgeable wine host on the trip to keep you on track. Every membership is different, but basically you receive a discount when you purchase at the winery and you will receive wines from one to 6 times per year depending on the type of membershyip. Also, special wines not offered to the public are made available for their members.
