Stud Dog Class, where indicated, will be for Stud
Dogs and two or three of their Gel. Stud Dogs must
be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be
shown in the ring with their Get. Owner 01 Stud
Dog need not necessarily be O'Nfler of Get . Get
only to be judged based on the merits of the Get.
An entry fee 01 $20.00 will be charged lor this
Class (Stud Dog and Get) Get must be entered in
another Regular Class.
Brood Bitch Class, where indicated , will be for
Brood Bitches and two or three olthair Produce.
Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch
Class and must be shown in the ring with their

Bitch Classes will be based on the merits of more
than one dog or bitch , no one 01 the dogs or
bitches making up the entry judged first in the class
will be eligible lor Best of Breed or Variety by virtue
of having won th is class.

for Brace as a Unit. The dogs comprising a Brace
MUST be named al time of entry. If a dog which
is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another
class, it must be entered for ' Brace Class Only' ,

dog on individua l regular entry forms.
An entry form for a dog ente red in another class
and ente red as a part of a Brace MUST be marked

Best Owner-Handled In Show Competition - Saturday & Sunday
September 17 & 18,2016 - National Owner-Handled Series
The AKC Owner/Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs lhat are exhibited by their
owners who are not professional handlers. This series of special competitions will be offered
at dog shows across the country.
All dogs that are ownerlhandled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers'
meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner/Handler
eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be
identified by an asterisk in the steward's book and the catalog. Dogs must be handled
throughout the competition by an eligible owner. Professional handlers may
not exhibit the dog in this competition .
The Owner Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete
in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the
non-regular classes .
If the Best 01 BreedlVariety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will
automatically be Owner Handled Best of BreedNariety and be eligible 10 compete in
both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled Group.
If the Best of BreedlVariety winner is Owner-Hand led competition ineligible and the
Best of Opposite Sex to Best of BreedlVa riety will compete against the eligible
undefeated exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of
BreedlVariety.
If the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of BreedN ariety are both
ineligible and Setect Dog and Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose
Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners
Bitch.
If one of Ihe Se lecls is eligible , excuse all dogs of the same sex and then choose Best
Owner-Handled exhibit from Ihe remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the
eligible Winners.
If Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are
ineligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog rema ining in the ring including
Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as Owner-Handled Best of BreedNariety.
The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog
competing in the Besl of Breed or in Best of Winners Competition.
·Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to
a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise
advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for payor received
payment for handling a dog.

A judge requesting the use 01 a ramp must give notice to the show superinlendenVshow secretary prior
to judg ing. AKC approval is nol required.
The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table or ramp).
At the discretion 01 the judge , the follOwing breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through
all levels of competition including Group and Besl in Show judging: Clumber Spaniel, Eng lish Springer
SpanielS, Field Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers,
Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chinese Shar-Pei, Keeshonden, Norwegian
Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs and Norrbottenspets (Mise).
At the discretion of the judge the following breed may be judged on the table or on a ramp throug h all
levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging : Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging ,
the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp or On a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets.
The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition : Basset
Hounds, Bulldogs and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation
doing shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group,
81S, Junior Showmanship, the 4·6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner·Handled
Series (NO HS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions .
Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any ground breed. In an emergency situation,
where use 01 a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their
entry and receiving a refund.
For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge lor the ramp optional
breeds.

in a Novice Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls ...mo are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old
on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition
present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day
of the show and who. at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present,
in a Novice Showmanship Class at a licensed or member show.
MASTER CLASS: This Class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on
the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open Class with competition to be
eligible to enter the limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will consistent with the eligibility
dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to
entry the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed.
Once the eligibility time frame forthat year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete
for the following year.
Competition must exist for Best Junior Handler.

There will be an area set aside for handicapped parking of passenger vehicles. Handicapped 10 and/or

All RV's and oversized vans must park in designated area. This includes oversized handicapped

There will be an EMT on the show grounds.
No crates or grooming tables allowed under the ring tents.
Pocono Mountain, Lehigh Valley & Berks County Kennel Clubs reserve the right to make any changes
deemed necessary.
Veterinarian services will be available. Exhibitors andlor owners will be responsible for all veterinarian
fees.
All vehicles must be removed from the show grounds no later than 7:00 PM Sunday. No exceptions!!

Exhibitors should fOllOW their veterinarians' recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal
and extemal paraSites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
No gasoline or diesel generators permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which
this dog show is conducted.

or stewards or runners for the purpose 01calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required.
ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the
exercising ring.
CLASS CASH PRIZES will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims tor prize money must be made

Field Trial Classes, For dogs and bitches who have a placement in a senior stake (e.g . Gun Dog or
All Age) or a first in a Derby Stake at an AKC Licensed Field Trial.
Hunting Classes, For dogs and bitches that have achieved any AKC Hunting Title (Junior, Senior or
Master Hunter) or the GSCA Working Dog (WD) or Working Dog Retriever (WDR) Title.
Stud Dog , For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class (in

September 17, 20 16 between 12 :30 PM - 3:00 PM at Macungie Memorial park,
Macungie, PA. In an non-competitive atmoshpere , owners will have the opportunity to
learn how their dog compares to the NEMDA - AKC Breed Standard in temperament
a nd conformation .

This Sweepstakes is open to all Gordon Setters who , on the day of the show, will be at least six months
and under 18 months of age . Sweepstakes Classes will be judged prior to Regular Classes. Fee $15.00.
