Hospitality Sunday
Pastor’s Notes
This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi,
the Body and Blood of Christ. As in the Feast of Holy
Trinity, so too, today we remember that God is with us
always. Each weekend, when we gather to celebrate the
Eucharist, we remember that Jesus is present in a very
real way, in his Word, in the Eucharist, and in his people
to nourish us for the living out of our calling wherever we
are planted.
On Memorial Day, I was informed that Father George
Asigre, of the country of Ghana, Africa, was on his way to
the Archdiocese of Baltimore, to study Clinical Pastoral
Education, better known as CPE at Johns Hopkins’
Bayview campus and was looking for housing while he
studies. After he met with Archdiocesan officials it was
clear he was a priest in good standing and we have
welcomed him to live in our midst. Right now he is living
in Good Shepherd but will move to Holy Trinity where he
will have better access to public transportation. By the
way, Father Tony and Father George, while from the
same country, are not from the same region of Ghana or
the same diocese. We are happy that Father George is
with us and will be helping with our Masses when his
schedule allows. This past Sunday I picked up Father
George at Good Shepherd and I introduced him prior to
their 10:15 Mass; then we headed to Crucifixion for my
assigned 11 am Mass, which he concelebrated.
As we have moved into the month of June,
graduations abound and schools will soon close for the
summer. Father Tony went home to Ghana on
Wednesday, May 28 to visit with his family and his
bishop and he will return on June 18. It will be a much
needed time for him to be “home” and get reconnected
and energized. Father Vin will be leaving on June 11 to go
home to Nigeria on his summer vacation to enjoy his
brother’s wedding. He will be returning on June 28.
Summer can be a great time to be rejuvenated. I hope
your summer will allow you to take some time off and
relax with those you love.
During the last week of May, Joyce Pagan, who served
our Faith Community as a Youth Minister and now serves
as our Coordinator of Religious Education, experienced
the death of her mom, Sarah “Sally” Gordon. As many of
us know, death of a mom brings with it a tremendous
sense of loss and pain. Please remember in your prayers
Sally, Joyce, and her family.

A message from Pè Rony:
Dear Gail, I pray you are well. Yesterday was the
Celebration of Trinity Sunday. I know it's a special day for
all of you from Holy Trinity parish in the Baltimore
diocese. During the Mass at St. Laurent we thought of
you and prayed for you. I wish you Happy Feast Day on
this beautiful occasion! Please do not forget to pass this
greeting on to all the parishioners for me. God is love
and life and always calls us to be in solidarity with those
who are weaker. Let us never cease fighting as we can to
help the children of God to live in dignity and peace.
Thank you so much for what you represent to us in our
parish here in Basen Manyan Basin. Once again Happy
Feast Day! May God fill you with His blessings! Pè Rony

Healing the Wounds of Abortion
It's normal to grieve a pregnancy loss, including the loss
of a child by abortion. It can form a hole in one's heart, a
hole so deep that sometimes it seems nothing can fill the
emptiness. A Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreat for
spiritual and emotional healing after abortion will be held
in Baltimore on June 12-14, 2015. The confidential,
supportive retreat is for anyone hurting inside after
abortion. For more information, please contact Johanna
at (410) 625-8491 or projectrachel@archbalt.org. You

the Parish Center on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9

continue their journey in becoming Catholic. RCIA is for
those who: have never been baptized; those baptized in
another Christian church who want to become Catholic;
or baptized Catholics who are in need of Confirmation.
Come journey with us in the Rite of Christian Initiation
for Adults (RCIA) as we delve deeply into the heart of the
Catholic Faith and grow in the knowledge and love of
Christ Jesus. Contact Fr. Tony Adawu at t.adawu@ccgb.org or call 410-766-5070 ext. 17.

of us who do this on a regular basis find it difficult for
some time off over the summer. This is a great way for
high schoolers to earn their “Community Service Hours”.

All families have been mailed re-registration forms.
Please return completed re-registration forms to our
office by June 1. This will allow us ample time to prepare
classes and update contact information. Please note that
tuition for the 2015 – 2016 school year is not due until
September, so please do not hold your registration forms
for that reason.
Vacation Bible School

Summer will be here before you know it. We are already
preparing for another fun Vacation Bible School from
June 22 to 26 from 9 am to 12 pm in the Parish Center.
SonSpark Labs creates a fun and engaging discovery lab
where children will have a great time singing fun songs,
watching skits, creating crafts and playing games. But
most important, they’ll discover that God’s plan for
everyone is Jesus!! We’re looking forward to sharing this
exciting event with the children and adults from our
parishes. We hope all will join us at SonSpark Labs. Call

Summer Madness Is Coming!
Mark Your Calendars!
What is Summer Madness? Summer Madness is a
unique opportunity for Middle School young people to
be involved in community service as well as fun activities
during those long, boring weeks of summer. Summer
Madness is designed to expose Middle School youth to
areas of ministry and service offered in our area, and to
put their faith into action.
How does Summer Madness work? During the week of
July 6 - 10, the students will gather at Catholic Church of
Glen Burnie Parish Center in Glen Burnie for warmers,
prayer, and announcements before the young people
travel to their service sites. Each group will experience a
different work site each day that will seek to expose the
young people to a variety of opportunities.
The afternoon begins with lunch (not provided),
processing the morning’s experiences and then … we’re
off for an afternoon activity.
When does Summer Madness Happen? The Summer
Madness service/recreational program runs the week of
July 6 – 10 meeting at CC-GB Parish Center at 8:30 a.m.
and returning there by 5:00 p.m. On Friday, July 10, 2014
we spend the day at Hershey Park as a wrap up to the
summer events.
How much does Summer Madness cost? Cost for this
event is $160.00 per person, which covers entrance fees
for afternoon activities, supplies, transportation, and TShirts. Each person pays the fee whether or not they
participate in all days. If a student is not going to
Hershey with us, then the fee is $85.
How do I sign up??? If you are interested in participating
in this awesome program, please call Joyce on ext. 18 for
a registration packet or download it from our website –
www.faithformationprogram.org. Registration is limited
and is on a first come, first serve basis.
CAN YOU DONATE? We often ask our parish family for
donations of things you may have lying around the house
that you no longer need. For Vacation Bible School we
are looking for donations of:
• Old CDs
• Plastic jars and empty bottles of house cleaners
(Windex, Kaboom, 409, Green Works, Mr. Clean, etc…)
• Unused mouse traps
• Unused disposable diapers
• 2 ltr soda bottles with caps

buscaba vivienda mientras estudia.
Padre Lou.
Mensaje del Padre Jesús
"Si no coméis mi carne y no bebéis mi sangre no tenéis
vida eterna"
cuerpo."
Primero la Palabra, la Buena Noticia, el Reino de Dios;
Estamos llamados a convertirnos
