(Names will appear for a period of approximately four weeks) 2 Hospitality Sunday Pastor’s Notes This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of Christ. As in the Feast of Holy Trinity, so too, today we remember that God is with us always. Each weekend, when we gather to celebrate the Eucharist, we remember that Jesus is present in a very real way, in his Word, in the Eucharist, and in his people to nourish us for the living out of our calling wherever we are planted. On Memorial Day, I was informed that Father George Asigre, of the country of Ghana, Africa, was on his way to the Archdiocese of Baltimore, to study Clinical Pastoral Education, better known as CPE at Johns Hopkins’ Bayview campus and was looking for housing while he studies. After he met with Archdiocesan officials it was clear he was a priest in good standing and we have welcomed him to live in our midst. Right now he is living in Good Shepherd but will move to Holy Trinity where he will have better access to public transportation. By the way, Father Tony and Father George, while from the same country, are not from the same region of Ghana or the same diocese. We are happy that Father George is with us and will be helping with our Masses when his schedule allows. This past Sunday I picked up Father George at Good Shepherd and I introduced him prior to their 10:15 Mass; then we headed to Crucifixion for my assigned 11 am Mass, which he concelebrated. As we have moved into the month of June, graduations abound and schools will soon close for the summer. Father Tony went home to Ghana on Wednesday, May 28 to visit with his family and his bishop and he will return on June 18. It will be a much needed time for him to be “home” and get reconnected and energized. Father Vin will be leaving on June 11 to go home to Nigeria on his summer vacation to enjoy his brother’s wedding. He will be returning on June 28. Summer can be a great time to be rejuvenated. I hope your summer will allow you to take some time off and relax with those you love. During the last week of May, Joyce Pagan, who served our Faith Community as a Youth Minister and now serves as our Coordinator of Religious Education, experienced the death of her mom, Sarah “Sally” Gordon. As many of us know, death of a mom brings with it a tremendous sense of loss and pain. Please remember in your prayers Sally, Joyce, and her family. My contact information: My email address is l.martin@cc-gb.org and my cell number is 410-299-6731. Remember, God loves you and so do I. Make it a good week! Fr. Lou After 8:30 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. Masses TODAY, June 7 there will be breakfast foods and hospitality offered for all to share in the Holy Trinity Hall. Get to know those who attend Mass with you! During the week of July 6 - 10, the students will gather at Catholic Church of Glen Burnie Parish Center in Glen Burnie for warmers, prayer, and announcements before the young people travel to their service sites.
