Yr 4 History Trip
On Wednesday Year 4 had a very enjoyable day
out at the Weald and Downland Museum.
Although it was rather chilly, the children had a
great time looking around the houses, seeing the
water mill in action and even finding time to defrost by the fire in the Tudor kitchen. The
children explored how buildings were built during a ʹGe5ing to Gripsʹ workshop, which saw
them building bridges, walls and a frame for a
house. Thank you to all the adults that
accompanied the trip. Fingers crossed for some
warmer weather next year! SH & SS

PTA Quiz Raises £430.00
Friends and supporters of our school attended the PTA
quiz, held last Friday night. 94 people in 13 teams
gathered in the school hall to test their wits and
knowledge against each other. With questions ranging
from “ What’s the definition of Didaskaleinophobia?”, to
“In what year did Clive Dunn’s Grandad song get to
number one in the charts?”, everyone certainly exercised
their brains! Clearly having set the wrong expectations
with their team name, “16 Short Planks” beat everyone
to win the event by a narrow 7 points ahead of the very
wrongly named “The Losers” who came a close second.
The Tadworth Governors also put in a good show
finishing in third place. On the other hand, DENSA were
clearly appropriately named, taking the wooden spoon
with “Last Orders At The Bar” (better get practising
for next year, Mr. Kelly & Co). Congratulations to all of
the teams who came somewhere in between: Ladybirds,
Loose Women, The Righteous Sisters, The Barlalas,
The Tadworth Stingers, Densa Not Mensa, and The
Margaret Beckett Fan Club. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. A huge thank you to everyone who attended
and took part in the event. In total, £430 was raised for
our school which will be going towards a new trim-trail
for Key Stage2.
Rob Chorley
Our thanks to Rob Chorley for acting once again as
Quiz Master and to those people who helped to
organise the evening. Learning Point: - There’s no shame
in coming last as long as you’ve tried your hardest.

Value of the month for February – Enjoyment
During February we will be focusing on the value of ‘Enjoyment’. Sometimes we need to stop and
‘smell the roses’, to really look and take pleasure in the world around us, whether that is nature,
family, friends, kind words etc. The ‘small’ things in life are actually the ‘big’ things in life. We
want to encourage the whole of our school community to find enjoyment and pleasure in our lives
and for us all to learn how we can be ‘transformed by the renewing of our minds’

STOP PRESS…STOP PRESS...In the event of heavy snowfall, information regarding any potential
