last week. And keep turning

Families with children entering Park Hill School District
kindergarten in August 2014 may enroll now by visiting
their local elementary schools between 7:45 a.m. and 4
p.m., Monday through Friday.
Children who turn five on or before July 31 are eligible for
kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year. Parents will
need to bring their children’s certified, state-issued birth
certificate, immunization records and two proofs of
residency to enroll.
We will have a COLOR DAY in
honor of the winning team
where the entire school gets
to wear that school’s colors.
The teams this year are KU,
MU, Nebraska, and Notre
Dame. Missouri is leading
with 141 box tops. Nebraska
has 33 box tops, KU has 3
box tops and Notre Dame
has 0 box tops.
One proof of residency must be a lease or mortgage
agreement. The other should be an original and current
gas, electric or water bill on which the name and address
are provided.

After you enroll, mark your calendar for the Kindergarten
Roundup event at your elementary school on Monday,
May 5 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Parents and students will get a
sneak peak of the school, tour the building, ask questions
and get to know the staff.

Student Career Day at Chinn!

Chinn Elementary is planning a fun-filled Career Fair
for Thursday, April 24th. This is the same day as Take
Your Child to Work Day. We are Looking for guest
speakers from the community to come to speak to
our students about their careers and relate it to
what they learned in elementary school.

Outdoor Recess Reminder
Save the Date for
the upcoming
McTeacher Night
Thursday
February 20th
Weather permitting, students go outside for recess.
On days when the temperature and/or wind-chill is
above 20 degrees, and the playground area is cleared
of snow and ice, there will be outdoor recess. Please
make sure your children bring appropriate clothing
for these days. If your child is to be excused from
recess, a note of explanation is required. To be
excused for more than three days, a written doctor’s
recommendation is required.
