Northwest Navigator> KITSAP/EVERETT EDITION • Friday, DECEMBER 3, 2010 The Trident ballistic missile submarine USS Louisiana (SSBN 743) surpassed all competition to capture its third consecutive Captain’s Cup championship for athletic excellence at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor during the 2009-10 season. Demonstrating the teamwork displayed both on and off the boat, Louisiana’s Blue and Gold crews combined to nearly double the score of their nearest competitors during the year-round con- test, performing well in all aspects of sportsmanship, teamwork, and athleticism. “This is just another example of Team Louisiana displaying how well a two-crew ship can work together to get the job done,” said Cmdr. Joe Turk, commanding officer of Louisiana (Gold). The Captain’s Cup program at Naval Base KitsapBangor promotes command unity and physical readiness through healthy competition in fitness and sports. Louisiana’s teams participated in almost every Captain’s Cup event offered CHAPEL SCHEDULE Bangor Chapel (Catholic worship) Tuesday - Thursday 11:45 a.m. Saturday, 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. Religious education schedule: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (Pre-School - 12th grade) Sacrament of Penance Saturdays 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Catholic Bible Study through Naval Base KitsapBangor and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) sports programs.
