are made possible by an unrestricted educational
grant from Bracco and in partnership with
the Chinese Society of Radiology and
the Korean Society of Radiology.
European School of Radiology
The European School of Radiology (ESOR) is an integrated and multi-dynamic
institution, fulfilling the mission of the European Society of Radiology (ESR)
in the field of education. Its main goal is to assist in harmonising radiological
education in Europe. With its wide range of activities, ESOR additionally aims
to raise standards in the field of scientific radiology, to extend and coordinate
teaching resources worldwide and to help young radiologists to obtain the
knowledge and skills to fulfil tomorrow’s requirements.
ESOR stands for education in partnership.
The AIMS Programmes in Asia are implemented with the Chinese Society of
Radiology and the Korean Society of Radiology as well as our valuable partner
Bracco.

AIMS China
Welcome to AIMS China
Dear Colleagues,
Seven years ago, the AIMS programme was set up by ESOR to create educational links and exchange between ESR and National Radiological
Societies outside Europe. The programme was materialised at first in China in close collaboration with the Chinese Society of Radiology
(CSR) and made possible by an unrestricted grant from Bracco. It has proved extremely interesting and productive as it has attracted more
than 5,200 Chinese radiologists from different regions so far. The educational programmes are delivered jointly by renowned European
speakers and esteemed Chinese lecturers in an effort to open up additional opportunities for exchanging expertise and enhancing scientific
collaboration.
Recently, the AIMS programmes in China have been restructured to include both schools and seminars. Schools are designed to familiarise
residents and young radiologists with established approaches and recent achievements in diagnostic imaging, related to topics across the
modalities. The programmes are intended for a larger number of participants and lectures are accompanied by case-based reviews, rounded
off by a self-assessment test. Seminars are aimed at board-certified radiologists and specialists. These are organ- or subspecialty oriented,
focused on the most recent diagnostic advances available and offer ample opportunities to share and exchange scientific knowledge and
expertise. The programmes consist of lectures and workshops, delivered jointly by renowned European and Chinese speakers, and are
limited to a certain number of participants. The later allows an interactive character, encouraging informal and free communication between
participants and lecturers.
In 2014 three schools are dedicated to Cardiovascular Imaging. The venues will be the cities of Nanjing, Yinchuan and Shenyang. One
seminar is focused on Oncologic Imaging and will take place in Hangzhou.
On behalf of CSR and ESOR, we would like to encourage especially young Chinese colleagues to actively participate and benefit from these
excellent programmes.

AIMS Korea
Welcome to AIMS Korea
Dear Colleagues,
The AIMS programme has been set up by ESOR to establish educational links and exchange between ESR and national radiological societies outside
Europe. As of 2012, the programme has been expanded in Asia to enhance the close partnership with the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR) in
the field of radiological education and research. This opened up an added long-term opportunity for scientific collaboration in radiology between
Korea and Europe, through an educational bridge which is made possible by an unrestricted grant from Bracco. The educational programmes
are delivered jointly by highly esteemed Korean lecturers and renowned European speakers in an effort to create additional opportunities in
exchanging expertise and enhancing scientific collaboration.
In 2014, it is KSR’s great pleasure to welcome the programme with one seminar, dedicated to Oncologic Imaging, in Seoul/Korea on July 12. This
is aimed at board-certified radiologists and specialists. Korean members will have the opportunity to update their knowledge in oncologic imaging
and to make prosperous relationship with ESR/ESOR. The programme consists of lectures and workshops and is limited to a specified number of
participants, allowing an interactive character and encouraging informal and free communication between participants and lecturers. KSR greatly
appreciates the contributions and efforts by ESOR and its faculty members towards the ESR/ESOR/KSR relationship.
On behalf of KSR and ESOR, we would like to encourage our Korean colleagues to actively participate and benefit from this excellent programme.
