Langmeil The Freedom 1843 Shiraz 2012
"Beautiful name for a wine. Grown on 169 year old vines. Two years in French oak. The
power and the glory of Barossa Shiraz. Neither thick nor syrupy and yet
power and presence personified. Cherry plum and blackberry with toasty, sawdusty oak
woven throughout. It's not flashy yet it commands attention. Firm
tannin comes drenched in fruit. It's one for the cellar and yet its drinkability is high."

Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz 2012
"Made mostly from (very old) vines transported and replanted - and therefore saved from a
developer's bulldozer. It also now sees some grapes from the Eden Valley. Slippery-smooth
style with a coat of vanilla and chocolate over blackberry, earth and rich plums. Opens
beautifully given time to breathe and stretch its legs a bit.
Alcohol is noticeable but the depth of fruit carries it pretty well. On a cold winter's
night, you could sink into this."

Langmeil The Fifth Wave Grenache 2012
"Change of tack for Langmeil's Fifth Wave Grenache. This is more like it. There's some
finesse here. It's bold with raspberry, earth and leather-like flavour but it has both an
elegance and an attractive clip of dried herbs. Less is more. Cedary oak is at one with the
fruit; this should mature beautifully."

Langmeil Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
"Excellent flavour. Dust, cranberry and blackcurrant before slightly leafy notes enter the fray.
You'd pick it as cabernet every time, and as a good one. Firm tannin
adds to the impression."
