GENERAL
The Bothy is situated in the Spittal of Glenshee,
one of Perthshires most picturesque glens, on the
southern edge of the Cairngorm National Park.
For the outdoor enthusiast there are a variety of
activities available locally including hill walking,
fishing, shooting and golf at Dalmunzie and Braemar
and the championship golf courses at Blairgowrie,
Gleneagles and St Andrews. Glenshee Ski Centre
is only 5 miles away.
Braemar, famously known for it’s Highland
Gathering, is 15 miles to the north, with Blairgowrie
20 miles to the south. Both provide day to day
amenities, with Blairgowrie also having a cottage
hospital and a wide range of specialist retailers.
The Fair City of Perth, 35 miles to the south, offers
a good range of local and national shops, as well
as leisure facilities, art gallery and cinema. Dundee
is 35 miles away and also has a broad range of
services including two universities. Both cities
benefit from a railway station. Dundee has a regular
air service to Stansted, with Edinburgh Airport only
about one and a half hours away.
DESCRIPTION
Formerly a traditional stone built hen house, the
property has been extended in recent years to form
a comfortable holiday home with timber extension
to the east and west. Sitting under a slate roof, The
Bothy has a great deal of charm whilst benefiting
from a modern practical interior. Entering the
property from the rear there is a useful utility room/
porch leading into the kitchen with electric oven
and hob, as well as wall-to-wall base units. Bedroom
one is located off the kitchen, whilst bedroom two
is beside the sitting room. The sitting room has
double patio doors opening out to the wooden
terrace and provides a comfortable and peaceful
space in which to enjoy the tranquillity of the glen
and surrounding farmland.
