Upcoming MWA Officials Courses­For Stewards, Race Secretaries, Scrutineers­On Saturday the 18th of
April MWA will be presenting a Stewards Workshop. This workshop will start at 8:30am and will be held at the

WA is once again holding the Junior (this means under 18!!) Elite Rider Training Camp, a camp aimed at Western
Australia’s top riders aged from 15 – 18 years. Jet Camp is designed to focus solely on ‘off the bike’ topics, so
there is no need to bring a bike along. There are seminars delivered by highly qualified presenters to introduce
the riders to the best Training, Competition and Lifestyle programs. Read More Final Meeting for Pinjar Park for the 2014/15 Season­The final meeting of season 2014/15, Round 3 of the
SMCWA Club Championship will be held this Saturday 11th April. For the last time this summer catch all the
action at Quit Pinjar Park speedway including senior sidecars, featuring six of the states best Sidecar teams plus
Senior 500 cc Solos along with all the exciting junior racing divisions. Don't miss any of the action with the Pre

Gaisford, Rykers and Porter Secure WAMX Round 1 Points At Esperance­Make Smoking History 2015
WAMX Series opener lived up to the expectations of many, when the gates dropped on the 24 motos for the
day.Timed qualifying was introduced for the very first time, adding an extra incentive for the riders for their first
gate picks of the day. The Veteran Class started the series and James Craig didn't get the best of starts but
made up for it during the course of the motos and took a clean sweep (1­1­1) with Ben Hothersall back racing
(2­2­2) and finishing second with Dean Castlehow third for the day. Read More Massive First State Round For WAMX Juniors At Esperance­The first Make Smoking History WAMX Junior
State Round was run and won, as over 200 Junior riders converged from right across the state to Esperance. The
Easter long weekend is a double header with Juniors on Saturday and Seniors on Sunday, and the juniors were
brilliant today in their first hit out for Championships points. The 50cc Auto class was one of the largest gate of
riders and it belonged to Kayden Minear (1­1­1) who took the top step of the box from Seth Clark and Taj Moore.
Jake Rumens collected a strong result with Tate Paganini and Deacon Paice. Read More 2015 WJMX Team Rider applications now open­Motorcycling Australia (MA) is now calling for expressions of
interest for Team Rider positions on the Australian Team for the 2015 World Junior Motocross Championships
(WJMX) to be held in El Molar, Spain on July 19, 2015. There are six positions available over two classes, with
the split to be determined post receipt of applications: Class 2: 85cc – 12­14 years and Class 3: 125cc – 13 ­17
years. Please note that the FIM has advised that there will be no 65cc class included in the 2015 WJMX.The time

MA announce new Elite Performance Academy­ Motorcycling Australia (MA) is pleased to announce the
launch of its new Elite Performance Academy (EPA). The initiative, which will supersede the previous Australian
Institute of Sport­based program, is set to involve the nation’s top young riders from all disciplines. Speaking
about the EPA, National Development Officer Laurence Miller said it will be purely invitational; with selected
riders invited to participate in the first phase of the program on the Gold Coast from June 12­14, 2015. A
selection process will then take place to determine the first intake of the inaugural Elite Performance Academy
squad, who will then be invited to an advanced follow­up camp in September. Read More
BSAHDC GO MOTO –Come and Try Day­The BSA & Harley Davidson Club will be holding a Senior Go Moto –
Come and try day at their Noble Falls Circuit, Toodyay Road, Gidgegannup. The event is on Sunday 12th of April
at 7.30am and all senior riders are welcome. Mentors will be available for new riders and information on joining
the club and Motorcycling WA will also be available. It will be a fun and informal day and a chance for new riders
to meet other riders and get involved in the sport. Read More
MWA's Caitlin Dransfield awarded Dr Heather MacGowan scholarship­The Department of Sport and
Recreation Career Pathways Program Emerging Professionals Package is a Department of Sport and Recreation’s
People Development initiative, which provides current employees working in the sport and recreation industry in
Western Australia with networking and professional development opportunities to further enhance their ability to
become a quality part of the workforce. This package is only open to a maximum of 10 employees in WA who
have worked in the sport Industry less than 5 years and assists people employed in the sport and recreation
sector to further develop knowledge and skills. Read More
New illicit drugs screening process a success at MX Nationals­Motorcycling Australia (MA) would like to
announce the results of its screening program for illicit drugs on riders at the opening round of the MX Nationals
in Horsham on the weekend. SureTest CupLabs now include screens to test for kronic (synthetic marijuana) and
methadone, along with other illicit substances including cannabis, amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine,
opiates and benzodiazepines. 13 random tests were conducted across the weekend on riders from MX1, MX2 and
MXD classes, as well as WEM staff and team managers. Read More
Drew crosses disciplines in search of thrill­If there are two kinds of motorsport that can rival each other in
pure levels of insanity, Top Fuel Motorcyce drag racing and speedway sidecars could be it. There are certainly
very few riders who have ever done both. Western Australian Mark Drew might be the only one in fact. Although
he doesn't race as much as he would like on dirt, lately concentrating on the drag strip, Drew still gets a massive
kick out of circle tracks. “Over the last 10 years I've probably raced eight speedway meets, the bike I'm on
needs a bit better set up and I'm not getting the laps in to do this,” he said. Read More​

Rule Interpretation Bulletin pertaining to Junior Classes Handlebar Width effective from 1st April, 2015. Affected
