Please allow me to welcome you to Castle High School for
tonight’s fall choir concert! Your attendance and presence are
deeply appreciated and gratefully acknowledged. Our students
work very hard each season to prepare and present high-quality,
educational, and entertaining choral literature to diverse
audiences, and it is our hope that you have a rewarding and
enriching evening.
The arts are in jeopardy in many areas around the state and
country (even in some of our neighboring districts) because of
budget constraints, but we are blessed in Warrick County that
we have a community and school corporation that fully supports,
encourages, and advances the visual and performing arts, and
our students are privileged to be part of one of the finest music
programs in the state of Indiana, both vocally and
instrumentally. Our marching band and both show choirs are
consistent state finalists, and our concert bands and choirs
experience ongoing success at contests and festivals as well. We
sincerely thank everyone involved in making this happen –
particularly our wonderful parents and booster club, school
administration, and corporate sponsors – all of whom we simply
could not proceed without.
We would also like to invite each and every one of you back
next month for our 2012 musical theatre production as the drama
and music departments join together to present the comedy hit
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying! Mr. Antey
and I are very proud of the work done thus far by our students
and assure you that you will not want to miss this outstanding
show, to be presented November 15-17 here in the Castle
auditorium. Tickets will go on sale soon, so check your local
media outlets or go to www.castlehs.com for upcoming
information.
Please enjoy the evening. Music is such a wonderful, beautiful,
and integral part of our lives, and it is indeed an honor to be able
to share it with you tonight.

The C.H.S. choirs would like to
pay tribute to Krista Hurt - a
remarkable young woman who
leaves behind a legacy of faith,
hope, and love. Krista, wife of
C.H.S. football coach Doug Hurt
and
herself
a
di sti nguished
Castle alumnae, passed away at age 35 and
leaves behind two beautiful children. Krista
and Doug could often be found at our concerts
and fundraisers as big supporters of the arts,
the students, and the school as a whole. On
behalf of the football players who are also
part of our program, as well as the entire
choir family, we remember Krista and the
special way she helped make C.H.S. a better
place. You will always be in our hearts and
minds.
