No outside alcoholic beverages of any kind are permitted in or around the Franciscan Center and/or Lourdes University. Violators will be asked to leave the property. All caterers to the Franciscan Center must be approved by the Franciscan Center. All caterers must provide current licensing, workmen’s comp and insurance as listed below. All outside food must come from a licensed caterer or establishment. Due to health regulations, no home cooked food is permitted to be brought in or served. For your convenience, the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University has a listing of approved caterers. If you choose someone who is not on the list, the following is required for approval: A current Lucas County Health Department Food Service License that allows off-premise catering. A commercial liability policy, including food products liability which will protect the permit holder, owner, its officers and employees. Such policy shall name the Franciscan Center, Lourdes University and the Sisters of St. Francis as additional insured. Such policy must contain the following limits: • $1,000,000 each occurrence • $1,000,000 personal injury aggregate • $1,000,000 general aggregate • $1,000,000 products and complete operation aggregate • Evidence of coverage by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation. All caterers must comply with all provisions of the Franciscan Center Catering Agreement including: A 10% catering fee based on the total food bill to be paid to the Franciscan Center the day of the event. The 10% fee is NOT waived for drop offs or self-catered events. Self-catered events must pay on fair market value. Fair market value is cost that would be charged to a paying customer. Building shall be left clean, including sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors. Per Health Department regulations, all food must be brought in and maintained at the proper temperature until served. Food may not be prepared in the Franciscan Center kitchen. Caterer shall provide all equipment, utensils, linen, skirting, trash bags and ice that are required for the event. All documentation must be provided at least 30 days prior to the event to be catered. I acknowledge that I have received a copy of this policy and understand it. Signed: Caterer:Date: 419-824-3999 | www.franciscancenter.org Catering Guidelines What is and is not permissible at the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University 1. We are a SERVING ONLY FACILITY. That means there is no cooking permitted on the premises. We do provide a prep area but caterers must bring all of their own equipment and utensils including but not limited to water pitchers, chafing dishes, serving spoons, coffee pots, linens, skirting, etc. 2. Ice is available for purchase at $1.50 per bag. If you wish to purchase ice from the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University, please indicate in advance to guarantee that it is available for you. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee it will be available. 3. No glass bottles are permitted to be served to the guests. In other words, if you are providing non-alcoholic beverages, they must be in cans, plastic bottles or cups. 4. If you are using the conference rooms for plating, the carpeting under and in front of the tables must be covered in plastic to protect the carpet. 5. The 10% commission check that is due the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University MUST be paid no later than one week prior to the event. Please note: 10% catering fee excludes cost of linen, china and beverages. This fee is based on the fair market value of the food only. Catering fee also applies to drop offs. 6. The kitchen area must be fully cleaned after use and restored to its original condition. All food, dishes and related items must be removed. 7. There is to be no dish washing in the sink. You may scrape your plates into the garbage; however, you may not rinse or wash your dishes. We do not have the proper facilities for this. 8. All licenses and proof of insurance MUST be in the hands of the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University at least 2 weeks prior to the event. 9. Caterers are responsible for bussing tables. This is not the responsibility of the facility. 10. There is a loading dock by the kitchen for your use. 11. Please make sure all garbage is placed into the dumpster located at the dock area. 12. A warming oven is available for your use if you need it. 13. The Franciscan Center reserves the right to review a caterer’s service and performance at each event and make future determinations based on this. 14. All caterers are welcome to visit the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University to view the area they will be working in before the day of the event. Please make arrangements with our office.
