You will need the following documents: valid out-ofstate license, Social Security card, two documents to verify residency (including utility bills, lease agreements/ mortgage documents, and W-2 forms), and a valid birth certificate (or passport, military ID card or certificate of citizenship). You will be required to pass a vision test regardless of the type of license you are seeking. If you have a Commercial Driver’s License with a hazardous material endorsement, you must pass the hazardous materials test. License Centers are generally open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some are open Saturday. Inquiries concerning directions to PennDOT locations and hours of operation along with information on the status of vehicle registration and driver license renewals can be obtained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the automated voice response system. In addition, extensively trained customer service representatives are at your disposal Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8 AM until 6 PM ET. Register to Vote To be eligible to register to vote, you must: • Be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next election • Be a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district for at least 30 days before the next election; and • Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the next election.
