6th Annual Conference Breitenbush Hot Springs Resort Oct 13
6th Annual Conference Breitenbush Oregon Holistic Nurses Association Resort Hot Springs Oct 13-16, 2013 Conference Overview Nurses have always been in roles that require flexibility and adaptability. Donna Wright, consultant with Creative Health Care Management, LLC, (CHCM) often states in her lectures that what nurses do is manage change. She points out that in whatever department or role nurses work, at the core of what they do is to assist patients in managing the stress of transitioning from one state to the next. That has never been truer than in our current world of health care. More than ever, our patients and clients need assistance navigating the transition into a new era of health care. It is the same transition for us as their caregivers, so it is incumbent upon us, as holistic healthcare practitioners, to prepare ourselves to manage and mitigate the effects of the transition. The OHNA 6th Annual Conference is designed to provide tools for the attendee toward that end. Conference Objectives At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Apply creative change management tools to reduce stress for positive outcomes for patients and personal use. Demonstrate simple stress reduction tools based in physical movement, applicable to patients and caregivers for health empowerment. Discuss methods to bring meaning and purpose that provide tools for midwifing the soul home to the Spirit world. Identify at least one approach for assessing spirituality from a place of awareness that will facilitate healing in the transition process.
