This weekend in Camargue
is composed of two different
activities : you will spend
the first day on the canals
and the second one discovering sea rowing. The
tour starts in the heart of
the typical fishing port of
Grau du Roi. You will then
go back up the famous
« Vidourle » and enjoy the amazing wild spaces of Camargue.
You will continue your tour on
the Rhône canal in Sète then will
take the « small canal » bordered
with stone pines before reaching
Aigues-Mortes. Then you will finally take the canal from AiguesMortes to Grau du Roi along the
«salins du Midi»..
This tour will make you believe in
persistent summer since at that
time of year winter has no hold
on the region. You will glide carefully in these beautiful spaces
born from the sprawling of the
great Rhône which goes diluting
with elegance inside the Mediterranean Sea.

Provisional planning
Day 1 : Launch at 8am from the club (Grau-duRoi), you will first row on the Rhône river then
on the canal from Rhône to Sète, then go back
to Grau-du-Roi. Two routes available: small loop
(21km) or big loop (25km). You should arrive
around noon.
Day 2 : introduction to sea rowing on a 10km tour
in Aigues-Mortes bay. Departure at 6pm for a 2
hour long tour. (Two session in half groups).
