Basketweave Finished Quilt Size: 54” X 72 Block Size: 6 ½ “ Unfinished (6” Finished) Number of Blocks Needed: 108 Backing Yardage Approx. 5¼ yards Binding: ¾ yard There are many, many ways to design this quilt. Option 1 – Use 2 Fabrics Cutting: Fabric A (shown as yellow in this diagram): cut (18) 2 ½” strips the full width of fabric (45” total yardage or 1 ¼ yards) Fabric B (shown as red in this diagram): cut (36) 2 ½” strips the full width of fabric (90” total yardage or 2 ½ yards) Option 2 – Use 3 Fabrics Cutting: Fabric A: cut (18) 2 ½” strips the full width of fabric (45” total yardage or 1 ¼ yards) Fabric B: cut (18) 2 ½” strips the full width of fabric (45” total yardage or 1 ¼ yards) Fabric C: cut (18) 2 ½” strips the full width of fabric (45” total yardage or 1 ¼ yards) Option 3 – Make it a Random Scrap Quilt This is for more experienced quilters as you will need to figure your own cuts of yardage and how you will sew them together. You will need at the very least 3 ¾ yards of scraps. All fabrics: Cut 2 ½” strips Options 4 – Give it a Woven-Ribbon Look Using 2 Different Color Themes This is for more experienced quilters as you will need to figure your own cuts of yardage and how you will sew them together. The fabrics you use will depend on how you’ve designed your quilt. 2) Cut the assembled strips into 6 ½” blocks (you will get 6 blocks per assembled strip, plus scrap). 3) Arrange your blocks following your design selection and sew together. 9 blocks to a row, 12 rows.
