PREZ SEZ
Hey Hot Rodders,
Mornings are cold and the leaves are yellow. The holiday
season is upon us. That also means that it’s the time to start
thinking about nominations for officers. If you or someone you
know is interested in being more involved, now is a perfect time
to step up. Or maybe a committee head, that’s a volunteer thing
and I know some people have been doing the same thing for a
long time and might be ready for a change. So think about it!
With the weather getting cold we should think about some
more garage crawls. Or how about if we go together as a club
some Saturday to help someone on a project? Any ideas? Let me
know. Just because the weather is turning bad doesn’t mean we
can’t get together and do car stuff. That’s all because I need to get
out to the shop!
Life’s short, drive a hot rod.

MEMBER NEWS
Vintiques Un-Run – pictures by Mindy Johnston
The weather held out, there was music, games, a tasty lunch and lots of
“UN-usual” trophies awarded. All with 100 beautiful cars for a fun
afternoon at Fulbright Park. Thank you all who turned out for our annual
event, a big thank you to Shirley, Mike, Dick and Marie for all of your effort
in coordinating this years Un-Run and to all those who helped them
throughout the day assisting with the games and lunch. Among the trophy
winners was Jack Crawford who was awarded the Director’s Choice for his
old school 34 Ford, “Jumpin’ Jack.” We had a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and
Dick Elliot was given the prestigious empty gas can award for….well, when
you see him on the side of the road you will know why. I myself enjoy this
event because it’s just a fun, laid back, enjoyable afternoon.
“Mystery Garage Crawl”- pictures by John Johnston
Thanks to Paul Michel, club members enjoyed a fun day cruising around crawling garages.
First stop was the home of Al and Kathy Neely. Next stop was at the home of the Anderson’s.
For lunch, everyone stopped at Paul Michel’s where Kay barbecued up some hot dogs (thank
you Kay!). The final garage crawl of the day was at the home of Pat and Kandy Parson. I was
not able to attend and am very bummed, from what I heard it was a great time and there was
some very cool stuff for everyone to see. Thanks again to Paul for putting this together!
Vintiques Fall Bonfire – pictures by Bonnie Moore
Thank you members who came out to the bonfire we had on the 1 6th! It was a
beautiful starry Friday night with no wind or rain. We roasted hot dogs and
marshmallows and enjoyed an evening visiting and hanging out.
If we got a little
chilly, no worries…just moved a little closer to the fire. Overall, it was fun!
Thank you everyone for your contributions and especially to Randy Carter for his
hospitality in letting us come out to use his fire pit! It was a fun fall activity.
At the September meeting, Rob Tee was gracious enough to give a talk on the difference between Agreed Value
and Stated Value insurance coverage. For those of you who missed it, here is the information below:

Question:
What is the difference between Agreed Value and Stated Value Insurance
coverage?
Answer:
An Agreed Value policy guarantees the policy will pay the full insured amount
of the vehicle – with no depreciation – in case of a covered total loss. A stated
value policy does not promise upfront to pay this stated amount. In the event of
a covered total loss, it may pay less than the stated amount, as the insurer has
the right to pay the lesser of your collector car’s depreciated actual cash value
(ACV) or its replacement cost. Some insurers that offer stated value policies
require periodic appraisals to substantiate the insured amount.

From the Editor – Mindy Johnston
I love this time of year….a time we can reflect on our many blessings and all that we are
thankful for. If I had to list everything, I would be writing a book! Instead, I would like to
take this opportunity to thank everyone who has worked so hard in the club this past
year. We couldn’t do it without all the many hours you all have put in. I am so thankful
for those of you who have taken time out of your lives to attend the activities that were
put together and I am thankful for all of you who have contributed items for the
newsletter and your support and compliments. But I am thankful most of all for the
people I have met, gotten to know and become friends with since joining the club. You
are all truly wonderful and I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
