It is a great place to meet for a coffee, award winning food and friendly service, whilst enjoying the wonderful views across the water park or watching the water-sports activities taking place nearby. The 8m high outdoor climbing wall and abseil tower provides the perfect opportunity for both novice and experienced climbers by using colour graded routes creating a challenge for everyone. You can also try our ultimate adrenaline experience on the tree top level high ropes course – why not have a go at being Tarzan or Jane balancing on wires and jumping between platforms. Expert and knowledgeable instructors will supervise at all times and will be on hand to answer any questions. You can hire rowing boats, canoes and kayaks, and with no experience needed, everyone, no matter what their age and ability can enjoy getting out on to the water. The two visitor centres at Egleton and Lyndon, provide access to miles of nature trails, exploring ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows. These lead to 27 hides overlooking 8 shallow water lagoons, shoreline and wetland areas. You can also buy a range of natural history gifts, drinks, ice cream and confectionery from the visitor centres. Annual Nature Reserve permits are available that also provide access to our other nature reserves at Pitsford, Ravensthorpe, Taverham Mill, Alton Water, Grafham Water and Hollowell. Rutland Water Cycle Hire offers a range of current models including Kona, Giant, Whyte and Specialized to name a few. You don’t have to be a pro cyclist to enjoy a ride around the water park. It’s a great day out for groups of friends or couples, why not try out a tandem - always a laugh! Normanton Church 10 Rutland’s best known landmark sits half submerged on the edge of Rutland Water. Formerly the church of St Matthew at Normanton, it was deconsecrated and almost demolished when the reservoir was built in the 1970s. Now a visitor centre the church is also licensed for the registration of civil weddings and partnerships. The club is open 7 days a week and has a sailing school with RYA qualified instructors for both adults and younger sailors. A Chandlery situated on site supplies parts, spares, clothing and much more. Rutland Water is the destination for all Stillwater Fly Fishers’. Regularly stocked with Rainbow and Brown trout that can grow to over 15lb, there’s always the chance to catch that fish of a lifetime!
