TOTaL TIME: 6 hours 30 minutes
1. KaMLOOPS > CaCHE CREEK
4. HOPE > PRINCETON
DISTaNCE: 135 kms / 84 miles
aPPROXIMaTE TIME: 1 hour 30 minutes
ROUTE: Highway 3 East (Crowsnest Highway)
ORIGIN/DESTINaTION: At Hope, access Highway 3 and follow it
east until you reach Princeton.
HIGHLIGHTS: Hope Chainsaw Carvings, Hope Slide, Manning Park.
DISTaNCE: 83 kms / 52 miles
aPPROXIMaTE TIME: 1 hour
ROUTE: Highway 1 West
ORIGIN/DESTINaTION: Head west on Highway 1 to Cache Creek.
HIGHLIGHTS: Tobiano Golf Course, Savona balancing rock.
SIDE TRIP:
Detour onto Highway 5 East of Hope (approx. 10 mins) and visit
the Othello Tunnels at Coquihalla Provincial Park. A series of old
train tunnels and bridges cut through the solid granite walls and
give stunning views over the wild Coquihalla River.
2. CaCHE CREEK > SPENCES BRIDGE
DISTaNCE: 50 kms / 31 miles
5. PRINCETON > MERRITT
aPPROXIMaTE TIME: 40 minutes
DISTaNCE: 89 kms / 55 miles
ROUTE: Highway 1 South
aPPROXIMaTE TIME: 1 hour 20 minutes
ORIGIN/DESTINaTION: Follow Highway 1 South to Spences Bridge.
ROUTE: Highway 5A North
HIGHLIGHTS: Cariboo Jade Shop, Ashcroft Manor, Log Cabin
Pub, and Big Horn Sheep.
ORIGIN/DESTINaTION: Upon arrival in Princeton, turn left
onto Bridge Street and then turn right at exit #290 onto the
Princeton-Kamloops Highway 5A and follow the signs to Merritt.
SIDE TRIP:
HIGHLIGHTS: Take it slow and enjoy the scenery
while passing by many small lakes and grasslands.
Take a short detour through Ashcroft,10 minutes South of
Cache Creek. See many historic buildings downtown and return
back to Highway 1 via Cornwall Road and the Ashcroft Reserve.
3. SPENCES BRIDGE > HOPE
DISTaNCE: 145 kms / 90 miles
aPPROXIMaTE TIME: 1 hour 40 minutes
ROUTE: Highway 1 South
ORIGIN/DESTINaTION: Follow Highway 1 South towards Hope.
HIGHLIGHTS: Hell’s Gate Airtram and the scenic Fraser Canyon.
6. MERRITT > KaMLOOPS
DISTaNCE: 90 kms / 54 miles
aPPROXIMaTE TIME: 1 hour
ROUTE: Highway 5A North
ORIGIN/DESTINaTION: At Merritt, follow Highway 5 North
and then make a right onto Highway 5A North.
HIGHLIGHTS: Check out the Historic Quilchena Hotel and
working ranch as well as surrounding farm land and the many
lakes with likely sightings of eagles fishing.
