New in fall, 2016 COMING IN 2017 Grandma Moses: American Modern July 1 through November 5, 2017 In addition to the new works on loan in the permanent gallery (June, 2016) that are dedicated to the life and work of Anna Mary Robertson “Grandma” Moses, Bennington Museum will present Grandma Moses: American Modern. Collectively over 65 works of this great American modern folk artist will be on view. This special exhibition pairs her paintings and ephemera alongside fellow folk artists, as well as her modernist contemporaries and counterparts. Key paintings by iconic artists such as Joseph Cornell, Helen Frankenthaler, Edward Hicks, Morris Hirshfield, Joseph Pickett, and Andy Warhol are included in this exhibition.
