Curtains, Pelmets, Swags and Tails at LASSCO
Pure cotton Madras lace made in Scotland on the original nineteenth century looms. These patterns were selected for use in,
and especially woven for, the Saloon at Brunswick House, the 1758 Georgian Vauxhall home of the Duke of Brunswick that is
now the LASSCO 'flagship'. With authentic Gainsborough patterns appropriately reminiscent of the Vauxhall Gardens style,
the lower edges worked in embroidered scallops, and in a pale white colour way these durable and naturally washable curtains
enhance the Brunswick Green cotton velvet curtains custom made by Josephine Robinson*; all surmounted by draped pelmets
created from salvaged Damask from the Great Gallery of Hertford House, Manchester Square, the home of the world renowned
Wallace Collection. The pelmets are, in turn, trimmed with a dark rose silk damask ex National Portrait Gallery.Scottish Lace
