Odd/Even Row Colorization on WinCross Grids The new odd/even row colorization on WinCross grids provides an easy-to-read visual transition between rows. You can easily toggle this colorization on or off using the new View|Colored Grids option of the View menu. See the WinCross online Help topic “View|Colored Grids” for more detailed information about this new option. The Analytical Group, Inc. WinCross 15 What’s New 12 Create Multiple Banners from Multiple Tables The Create Banners from Tables option of Setup|Banners will now let you select multiple tables at once. The table rows from the selected tables become the banner columns for the new banners. You cannot choose the Table rows to use for Banner columns when multiple tables are selected. The Table title from the selected banner becomes the Banner name and Banner title for the new banner. This option is especially useful if you want to create a group of banners from a group of tables (for example, a set of product rating scales). Once created, you can assign banner options to the first new banner using Edit Banner. Then, use the new Apply Options to Similar Banners feature to copy the options from the first new rating scale banner to the remainder of the new rating scale banners without having to individually assign the same options to each banner. See the WinCross online Help topic “Create Banners from Tables” for more detailed information about the new multiselect functionality for creating banners. The Analytical Group, Inc. WinCross 15 What’s New 13 Apply Options to Similar Banners The new Apply Options to Similar Banners feature of Setup|Banners lets you copy specific banner options from one banner to other similar banners as long as the similar banners have the same number of columns as the original banner. This option is especially useful if you want to create a group of banners from a group of tables (for example, a set of product rating scales). Using Create Banners from Tables, you can create multiple banners from multiple tables at one time. Once created, you can assign banner options to the first new banner using Edit Banner. Apply Options to Similar Banners allows you to copy the options from the first new rating scale banner to the remainder of the new rating scale banners without having to individually assign the same options to each banner. Banner options applied include options from the following tabs/options on the Banner Editor dialog: Width and Spacing tab Options tab Horizontal/Constant Percents tab Weights tab Comparison Groups tab Statistical Testing See the WinCross online Help topic “Apply Options to Similar Banners” for more detailed information about this new feature. The Analytical Group, Inc. WinCross 15 What’s New 14 Banner Editor Features The Edit Banner option of Setup|Banners has some new noteworthy features. New features include New page before column and Background column color on the Options tab and Edit Comparison Groups As Text on the Comparison Groups tab. The New page before column option on the Options tab of the Banner Editor lets you specify a page break for banners that, when printing will span multiple pages. The Background column color option on the Options tab of the Banner Editor lets you assign background color to a column or groups of column (for example, all of the columns in a Comparison Group) for easier identification. Note: The new Background column color option takes precedence over Background Colors assigned to Comparison Groups for Enhanced Text Reports or Excel Reports. The Analytical Group, Inc. WinCross 15 What’s New 15 The Edit Comparison Groups As Text option on the Comparison Groups tab of the Banner Editor provides a shortcut assignment of comparison groups by column number. This new time-saving feature is especially helpful for long banners with many columns. The maximum Column width for banner columns has been increased to 100 characters on the Width and Spacing tab of the Banner Editor. See the WinCross online Help topics “Options tab (Edit Banner)”, “Comparison Groups tab (Edit Banner)” and “Width and Spacing tab (Edit Banner)” for more detailed information about these new Banner Editor features. WinCross 15 What’s New The Analytical Group, Inc. 16 String Substitution for USE Statements The USE statement that lets you use already-created rows in a new table has been enhanced to include string substitution. For example, if your original table has the following row logic: Quality of support^ Timeliness of support^ Follow-up^ Q1_SALES_SUPPORT (1)^ Q2_SALES_SUPPORT (2)^ Q3_SALES_SUPPORT (3)^ and you have a new table that will use the same row text and the only difference in the logic is a portion of the variable names used (Q1_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT, Q2_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT and Q3_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT), the new string substitution for USE statements is the perfect solution: USE=Q1-3,”SALES”=”TECHNICAL” (where Q1-3 is the table name of the original table) or USE=10,”SALES”=”TECHNICAL” (where 10 is the index number of the Q1-3 table) See the WinCross online Help topic “Use Rows for more detailed information about this new string substitution for the USE statement. The Analytical Group, Inc. WinCross 15 What’s New 17 New Mean Confidence Intervals for Table and Row Means Upper and lower Mean confidence intervals can now be specified for table means using the Statistics option of Setup|Tables or for row means using the Row Options of Setup|Tables.
