I’m a market analyst here at Charlie Bravo Aviation with a focus on the Gulfstream market, including Astras. Each quarter I put together a comprehensive review of the Astra market for Astra owners and share the data as a means to provide value to your operation. Like many other “vintage” aircraft markets, the Astra model has seen a strong decrease in values and continues to do so. Inventory remains above 10% or higher for all the 1125/ SP/SPX models. The straight 1125 market has 34% of the fleet for sale with 11 aircraft on the market, average ask price $900,000-$1.2M. Three of these models have been retired out of the 35 total built. The 1125SP model—with 36 aircraft built—currently has six listed for sale or 18% of the fleet. Average asking prices range from $1.2-2.495M. Twelve percent (or seven of the 59) SPX models built are for sale with asking prices between $2.9M and $3.6M. Across the fleet we see aircraft on the market for 250-400 days before being removed from market or sold. These aircraft are selling at a slow and steady rate, however buyers are looking for exceptional deals. Aircraft with lingering inspections and lackluster interiors will go to the bottom of the list for what continues to be a buyers’ market. Besides maintenance records and good aesthetics, buyers ask for Pro-Line avionics and maybe an APU. !
