Your 68th Texas DECA State Action Team congratulates you for your hard work and preparation for competition. It takes immense dedication to compete with other qualified members from throughout the state, and I encourage you to continue the positive momentum this week as you aim to earn a place on stage Friday. Your experiences these next few days will be revered long past your high school career, as the lessons learned and skills developed at State CDC will prepare you for future endeavors. Whether you are meeting with State Officer candidates or competing for a chance to meet Mickey Mouse in Orlando, this is the perfect opportunity for you to expand your horizons, expand your network, enhance your business etiquette, and excel in competition by making the most of this conference. As members from every part of the Lone Star State congregate for this one conference, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone to meet other members. The Texas DECA member in the hotel room across the hall may be a future roommate, friend, or business partner. #TexasDECAis full of innovative and passionate leaders, so try to connect with as many members as possible. You’re going to want to capture the memories you make at this conference! Photograph, tweet, and post your best Texas DECA experiences at this conference using this year’s state theme, #TexasDECAis. Simply add an adjective after the hashtag and you are sharing your experiences with members and friends back at home. For examples on how to use the hashtag, be sure to follow @TexasDECA on all social media platforms - your post might even be retweeted or reposted by Texas DECA! Whether it is a post-competition victory dance or a picture of the Opening Session, use social media to show friends at home what a positive and powerful experience DECA can be. Ultimately, this conference could not be a success without the dedication and countless hours of effort given by our advisors and other volunteers. Texas DECA owes its success to everyone who continues to work towards improving our organization. Always be courteous towards an advisor and be sure to thank them for their service. The State Officer Team is honored to welcome such hardworking and enthusiastic members. #TexasDECAis energized for the 2015 State Career Development Conference. Enjoy your experience and we hope to see you in Orlando! From Texas DECA Some people have a way of giving us a much needed lift. They make our lives brighter but we don’t always get the chance to tell them. The event directors, assistants, office staff, and DECA staff make this conference possible. The service that is rendered throughout the year and through this conference is truly appreciated. They demonstrate the purpose in this world, which is not to “have and to hold” but “to give and to serve.” DECA Truly Appreciates… DECA Board of Directors Sandra Hinesly, Executive Director Mary Chandler, Series Event Coordinator Dr. Linda Anderson, Written Event Coordinator Debra Bruso, Team Decision Event Coordinator Dale Muir, Principles and Professional Selling Events Coordinator Curtis Haley, Officer Coordinator Jesse Castleberry, Tabulation Team Alicia Creamer, Tabulation Team Holly Stroud, Tabulation Team Keri Muir, Registration Team Dale Hinesly, Conference Coordinator Event Directors and Assistants TEXAS Excitement Thank You to Our Sponsors LOGO: PEPSI REGULAR Americas Drive•In LOGO: PEPSI LIGHT SM EXPERIENCE ORLANDO APRIL 25-28, 2015 O R L A N D O, F LO R I DA
