The Lebanon County Heritage
Trail is a joint project of the
Lebanon Valley Conservancy,
the Lebanon County Historical
Society and the Lebanon County
Preservation Trust to promote
the historic and scenic sites of
the Lebanon County. The Trail
follows existing roadways
throughout the County and will
make a 100 mile loop connecting 24 of the 25 municipalities
within it. The Trail is bikefriendly and will be marked with
path and historic destination
markers. Those traveling the
Trail by vehicle are encouraged
to park and explore the busi-
nesses and historical landmarks
within the area. Maps of each
region will be printed and will
give backstories about the historical properties denoted in each
town. The Trail is envisioned as
a route that will connect neighboring communities and create a
backbone for a county-wide network of hiking and biking trails.
The intent of the project is to
educate those within and outside
the area about the many things
Lebanon County has to offer.
In Heidelberg Township,
Schaefferstown and Kleinfeltersville will be honored with their
own maps. The Commonwealth
designated “Scenic Byway”
Route 419 will be highlighted
through our region as well as
the wealth of historic landmarks and businesses within the
towns. Maps of the areas within Heidelberg Township will be
available at the Township Building and possibly other locations
as well. A full map of the Heritage Trail below shows the
areas to be represented. With
the rich history and preserved
agricultural land of our Township, we are sure to be a
highpoint for the many that will
take the path.

In an effort to assist those residents who are served by public water and/or public sewer, a schedule of
bill dates and corresponding due dates is to follow. This schedule will allow those residents to track
the dates around which they should be receiving invoices. We have been notified that some property
owners have not received bills in recent quarters and this schedule may help if one is not in your mail
around the billing date. If an invoice is not received, please call 949-3885 for sewer invoice questions
and 949-6977 for water invoice questions.

2015 LOCAL TAX RETURNS DUE APRIL 18TH
It’s that time of year again.
The 2015 local earned income
tax return filing deadline is
approaching. The due date is
extended to Monday April 18
this year because Washington
DC is commemorating Emancipation Day on Friday April 15.
Did you know the quickest
way to get your refund is to
file online? If you live and
work in Pennsylvania, you can
e-file on our tax administrator’s secure website, which is
available 24/7 at
www.KeystoneCollects.com.

tax return. It lets you file
your tax return when it is
most convenient for you. You
will need your W-2, your Social Security Number and any
other income documents that
may apply (such as a PA-UE or

NATIONAL RACING COMES TO LANCO
Tucked in the mountainous area
of southern Heidelberg Township
is the Clyde Martin Memorial
Speedway, better known to locals as the Lanco Racetrack.
Throughout the spring and summer months, the speedway located at 180 Sunnyside Road is
home to micro sprint car racing.
Known as one of the highest
ranking race tracks on the east
coast, the “Clyde” offers family
entertainment and exciting racing most Saturday nights of the
racing season.
This year marks the first time
ever that the USAC National
Midget Series will make a stop at
Lanco for the 2016 USAC Pennsylvania Midget Week. The
nationally touring race group
will bring competitors to the
track for a mid-week race the
evening of Tuesday, August 16th.
While all other races at Lanco
occur on Saturdays and Sundays,
this Tuesday night event is due
to the distinction of being a part
of the USAC Pennsylvania Midget
Week.
If you wish to attend a racing
event, a 2016 regular season
schedule is provided below.

Meetings are held the second
Monday of each month at
7:30PM with no meetings in
December and January. April
through September the club
meetings are held at the track,

Company.

in the USA” right here in Heidelberg Township!
