Loan Growth
Spring greetings, WSCU members! Did I miss seeing you at this
year’s Annual Meeting on February 20th? We gave out more
than $550 in prizes and Nina L. won the grand prize of a Samsung
Tablet. Take a look some of the credit union’s statistics featured
on this page that were reviewed at that time.
$30 Million
What fantastic results we’ve experienced in recent years, and
our growth continues! Not only is this a result of dedicated
employees and our volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory
Committee members, but it’s you, the member-owners of Weld
Schools Credit Union, that makes all of this happen. Thank you
from all of us to you for using the credit union’s many products
and services.
$20 Million
February 15, 2016, marked my 31st year with WSCU, and my
retirement is now at hand. When I started on the teller line in
1985, the credit union was $9 million in asset size, membership
stood at 3000 and carbon paper was used when giving members
their deposit and withdrawal receipts. Today, at $65 million
and 5700 members, we operate in the phenomenal world of
computers, iPhones and Apps. Oh my! What a pleasure and
privilege it has been to experience all of these transitions with
you over these many years. Together, we’ll watch the credit
union’s future growth and the exciting directions it takes.

Education Assistance Fund
This spring WSCU has reached over $106,00 in donations to the
Weld County Education System over the past 19 years. We are
proud to announce the schools that were granted funds from the
Jerry Cranwell Education Assistance Fund. This continues to be a
program that we feel is important to our schools and community.
With ongoing budget cuts, it’s important to be a helping hand to
our school members in their pursuit to educate and prepare kids
for the future. Listed below are the schools that were awarded
funds in WSCU’s spring distribution:
1. Dos Rios Elementary
2. Shawsheen Elementary
3. Fort Lupton High School
4. Windsor Middle School
