June 2011 Volume 2, Issue 3 Loyalist Lines Manitoba Branch United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada/ Annual Branch Church Parade 2011 Annual Branch Church Parade was held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at North Kildonan United Church in Winnipeg. Attendees enjoyed a time of fellowship with members of the congregation following the service followed by lunch at the Norvilla Hotel. Edward Jessup Branch in Brockville, Ontario. The conference was indeed a great celebration of our Loyalist Roots jam packed with interesting tours and activities. Our Manitoba contingent consisted of nine and from all reports each and every one of the attendees made the most of the event, meeting new UELAC friends, renewing old acquaintances, learning the history of the region or pursuing family research. During the opening reception held at the Brockville Rowing Club, our group invited everyone to attend the 2012 Conference hosted by our Manitoba Branch by performing a rousing ballad to the tune of ”Red River Valley”. Unfortunately, we did not have an opportunity to practice prior to the performance but the audience was kind and applauded our efforts! 2012 Invitation Lyrics To this valley we hope you are coming We will welcome you in true Prairie style For they say Loyalists at Hotel Fort Garry Will be a conference very worthwhile.
