Rock On At The Hard Rock Shops
Rock On At The Hard Rock Shops T I' he oversized neon-lit guitar shines brightly for all to see just a mile off the Strip and only one mile away from the airport. The Hard Rock Hotel, which opened its doors in Sin City almost 10 years ago, is home to some of the best entertainment, dining and now cutting-edge fashion. It is not hip to be square in this circular rock memorabilia-filled casino. Recently adding a few more shops to enjoy while visiting, guests can take home a piece of the Hard Rock way oflife. An out of the ordinary lingerie shop, Love Jones, and an independently owned 24-hour jewelry store, Rocks, opened during the past couple of months. "Love Jones is lingerie done Hard Rock style, with a rock 'n' roll edge," said Page Hanson, the store's general manager. "We are set apart from the others, because you don't find items like this anywhere else." The buyer for Love Jones scoured the United States and Europe to find unique lingerie to insure that the selection is one-of-a-kind, Hanson said. It must have something worth seeing, because in the short amount of time it has been open, television networks Extra and El have shot footage there, as well as WE: Women's Entertainment's reality show, "Single in Las Vegas." It has a variety of items that range from fun, sassy gifts to high-end lingerie varying in price from $12 to $300. Rolling with the trends of the time, motorcycle mania has in the past month hit the Hard Rock. It has always been an underlying theme, but the hotel recently commissioned a one-of-a-kind chopper built by Gene Thomas Racing with parts and frame by West Coast Choppers. The motorcycle sits in the window of the Hard Rock Retail Store, but if the $55,000 price tag on this beauty is beyond your budget, inside lies something for everyone. Between novelty gifts, shirts, Von Dutch merchandise, collectible pins, golf wear and now biker gear, it rocks hard. The pins and celebrity chips have sparked nationwide attention by collectors since the start. The Retail Store and Sundries (the store with drinks, snacks, candles, oils, soaps and creams all at one locale) have both been around since the hotel's opening. Cuba Libre, the hotel's cigar bar, introduced itself about three years ago. Cuba Libre offers not only a wide variety of cigars but tenders infused martinis, top-shelf cognacs and brandies. If you buy a drink here, you get a free hookah pipe hit. For a rocking good time, check out the Hard Rock Hotel. It is located at 4455 Paradise Road.
