Installation Procedure for FLASH-DVD Kit
I. The following items Zapex recommends for a reliable FLASH-DVD Pro system.
The Diagrams do not reflect what is including in the Kit. Zapex will only support
the Dell 420 system with FLASH 1.04.

II. The following instructions are given ONLY for a Dell Precision 420
PC. Contact Zapex Technical Support on other PC and
Motherboard’s tested.
Step1.0:
Unpacking the computer
1.1 Open the Dell PC and Dell monitor boxes and hook up the cables as shown in Figure1a.

1.2 Turn On the Power to the PC.
1.3 Change Display Resolution to “1024 by 768” and Color to “True Color”

Step 2.0:
Install the SCSI, DVD Decoder and ZP-300 Cards
2.1 Remove the power supply cable from PC.
Release the lock key on back panel as shown in Figure 2.

Open the side panel of Dell PC as shown in Figure 2b.

2.2 Pull up the Power supply handle unit to move it in the direction as shown in Figure 2c.

2.3 Turn the power supply unit as shown in Figure 2d.

2.4 Remove the screws for PCI bracket of Slot 1 to 3 and remove PCI brackets.
Install ZP-300, Hollywood Plus decoder and Adaptec SCSI card into PCI Slots as shown in
Figure 2e.

2.5 Cut wire-ties on the power extension cable as shown in Figure 2f.

2.6 Release power extension cable for ZP-300 from wire clip as shown in Figure 2g.

2.7 Remove the power connector cap from power extension cable and connect the connector to
ZP-300 card as shown in Figure 2h.

2.8 Replace the power supply unit to its original position as shown in Figure 2i.

2.9 Close the side panel of the Dell PC.
2.10 Connect the power supply cable to the PC.

Step 3.0:
Example cable connections for Gemini DVD ZP-SA, ZP-CA, and ZP-DD Models
3.1 Make cable connections between ZP-300SA, Hollywood Decoder, TBC, A/V selector, VTR,
RGB monitor, Speakers, and Pioneer DVR-S201 DVD-R as shown in Figure 3a. After
connections are completed, power-up all devices.

3.2 Make cable connections between ZP-300CA, Hollywood Decoder, TBC, Audio converter,
A/V selector, VTR, RGB monitor, Speakers, and Pioneer DVR-S201 DVD-R as shown in Figure
3b. After connections are completed, power-up all the devices.

3.3 Make cable connections between ZP-300DD, Hollywood Decoder, TBC, Audio converter,

After finishing the installation of drivers then Reboot the PC.

Step 5.0:
Adaptec ASPI-Check & ASPI Update programs
5.1 Execute “aspichk.exe”program from the Zapex Installation Kit CD ROM:\Adaptec>.
The window will appear on the screen as shown in Figure 5a.

5.2 If the version listed is 4.60, click “Exit”button and go to Step 5.3.
If the version listed is older than 4.60, click “Exit”button.
5.3 Execute “aspi32.exe”program from the Zapex Kit CD ROM:\Adaptec>.
The window will appear on the screen as shown in Figure 5b.

5.4 Click the “Upgrade”button.

5.6 After the PC booted up, execute “aspichk.exe”program from the Zapex Kit
CDROM:\Adaptec>.
5.7 Confirm the version listed has changed to 4.60. And click “Exit”button.

Step 6.0:
Installation of Hollywood plus DVD decoder software
6.1 Execute “Setup.exe”from the Zapex Kit CD ROM:\HollywoodPlus_Install\Disk1 >
6.2 After installation is finished, reboot the PC.
6.3 Run “DVD Station”from Start | Programs | REALMAGIC Hollywood Plus”
6.4 Launch “DVD station”program from “DESKTOP”

6.5 Set the “Default Drive”(Play list TAB) to read from the work directory of stored data.

Step 7.0:
Installation of ZP-200/300 control software
7.1 Execute “Setup.exe”from Zapex CD ROM:\ZP_ControllerVer3.52\setup.exe>
Select ZP300 Dolby Digital capable
7.2 Do not check the PCI Configuration box for a Dell 420 PC.
7.3 After installation is finished, reboot the PC.

7.6 Unselect “VTR Control”then click on OK.

Based on your model select either DefaultCA.ZAP, DefaultSA.ZAP, or DefaultDD.ZAP
7.8 Check the drive letter your storing data to. It must match what Flash-DVD “Work directory”
will be writing to.
7.9 From “File”menu on the ZP-Controller. Select “Set As User Default”
7.10 Exit ZP-Controller.
7.11. Close “ZP-300”Explorer Window.

Installation of FLASH-DVD Kit software
8.1 Execute “Setup.exe”from Zapex Kit CD ROM :\FLASHDVD>.
8.2 Check the Work Directory where you store your DVD titles.
Step 9.0:
Zapex program to Configure Program Menu and Shortcuts
9.1 Execute “FlashDVDConfig.bat”from CD ROM:\SetupConfig>
9.2 Confirm the following:
a) The shortcut for the ZP-Controller on the Desktop is deleted.
b) ZP-300 Start Menu on the “Start-Programs menu”is deleted.
c) The shortcut for “DVD Station”is created on the Desktop.
d) The shortcut for “Flash-DVD”is created on the Desktop.
9.3 How to run FLASH-DVD, refer to the Zapex kit CDROM:\Flash_Powerpoint>
