Accommodations
Sanibel Moorings has provided luxurious, world-class accommodations in
gorgeous tropical surroundings on Sanibel Island’s East End for many years. We have
122 individually-owned and decorated one, two and three-bedroom condominium
suites that are just a few magical steps away from the glistening Gulf of Mexico and
its splashing surf and shell-speckled sands.
Depending on your suite’s location, your place in paradise will face the stunning
Gulf, the colorful courtyards, or the peaceful lagoon. No matter where you stay, or
for how long, you will enjoy fully furnished and equipped rental suites, excellent
guest services, fun leisure activities, unsurpassed landscapes and home comforts
in a relaxed vacation setting. The staff will even offer you fresh fruit, plucked off the
resort’s numerous trees.
While you’re in the lobby, take time to browse the gift shop area for a T-shirt or
beach towel, grab a beach read from the library, and select some brochures for
ideas about what to do, where to go and what to see on Sanibel.
All of the condominium suites at Sanibel Moorings are clean, comfortable and
loaded with extras. The kitchen supplies a microwave, stove, oven, toaster, coffee
maker, dishes, glasses, and cooking & eating utensils. There is a dining area, a
comfortable living room with sofas, chairs and a television with DVD and VHS players,
and a private, screened-in lanai with a table and chairs. The master bedrooms have
their own bathroom, shower and television. There is a free linen exchange service,
and housekeeping can be arranged for a nominal charge.
For your convenience, local island markets can have groceries delivered and
waiting for your arrival.
The conference/business center at Sanibel Moorings provides meeting space and
for those who need to stay connected to the outside world, wireless Internet (WiFi) is
available throughout the property.
Short-term rentals daily, weekly and long-term monthly rentals are available.

Resort Amenities
Although it’s a safe bet you will want to explore the islands and everything they
have to offer, there is plenty to do right here at Sanibel Moorings…
Take a guided tour of the stunning tropical flora, including the budding hibiscus
collection, and watch the monarchs and queens flutter by in the butterfly garden.
Sit on a bench by the bay cedar tree, take in the fragrant flowers and listen to the
soothing, gurgling fountain.
Join the weekly shelling lecture before hitting the beach to collect your own treasures
and memories. Grab some exercise with a game of tennis or take a refreshing dip
in one of our swimming pools. Fire up the grill, cook up some fresh fish or good oldfashioned burgers, and enjoy an outdoor picnic, then lounge in your suite and watch
a DVD on the television. We offer a movie library with titles for all ages.
If you have a Gulf view suite, start or end your day on the lanai with amazing views
while the surprisingly graceful pelicans fish right in front of you.
For those on the dock side of Sanibel Moorings, you will notice the newly
refurbished docks where you can tie up your boat and have quick and easy access
to the Sanibel River and Gulf of Mexico. You’re welcome to fish on the beach or off
the Sanibel Moorings docks. Tarpon, snook and sea trout are just some of the popular
catches during season. In fact, the Sanibel-Captiva area is known as one of the top
tarpon fishing locations in the world.
If your pleasure runs to a little more activity than relaxing on the beach or watching
nature go by, then Sanibel Moorings has something for you as well. Bring your tennis
equipment and perfect your serve on our private tennis courts, take advantage of the
exercise room or cool off in one of the 2 heated pools. Parents will love the separate
kiddie pool for little ones. Kayaks and canoes for exploring the quiet backwaters are
available.
Once you’ve settled in, the Gulf of Mexico will pull you with a magnetic force
– pass wispy Muhly Grass and cross the boardwalk into another world. Your toes
will melt into the soft sand as you turn your face to absorb the sweet Sanibel sun.
Crashing blue waves, soaring seabirds, waving palm trees and seashell everywhere
you look will complete a picture of pure perfection.

Things To Do
When you do venture off the property, perhaps
you’ll want to golf at one of Sanibel’s challenging
and exquisite courses, or rent a bicycle and hop
on the scenic Sanibel bike paths. Bicycling is a
popular and fun way to get around the island
and check out all the renowned shops, art
galleries, museums, preserves and restaurants.
From Sanibel Moorings, you’re just a mile
down the road from several popular shops and
restaurants.
A Few Sites to See:
• Go a half-mile East from Sanibel Moorings
and you’ll reach the historic Lighthouse - perhaps
the most photographed Sanibel landmark. It is
still functional, and is currently operated by the
Florida Coast Guard.
• While you’re on Sanibel’s East End, watch the hopeful snowy egrets with their
trademark “golden slippers” as they buzz around the fishermen casting their lines off
the famous Lighthouse Pier.
• “Ding” Darling Refuge presents fun & educational activities for the whole family
and the likelihood of spotting plenty of wildlife. Visit the walk-in nature center, cruise
down Wildlife Drive and walk boardwalk trails throughout the refuge. Don’t forget
your camera!
• The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum and the Sanibel Historic Village are
fascinating stops on the tourist trail.
• The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation & Tarpon Bay Explorers offer
programs, hands-on nature encounters and scenic island tours that will make for a
memorable stay on Sanibel Island.
• Pick up some tropical gifts and mementos from one of the many island boutiques.
Dig into fresh seafood at an award-winning restaurant, and then take in local
entertainment at the Schoolhouse Theater.
Of course, Sanibel is surrounded by miles of gorgeous, shell-strewn beaches
that promise plenty of fun-filled days of sunning, swimming and sailing. After you’ve
sampled the beach in front of your Sanibel Moorings suite, you might want to visit
other popular island locations such as Bowman’s Beach on Sanibel and Blind Pass
near Captiva.
Whether you stay for a few days or a few months, Sanibel Moorings is a vacation
resort that always gives its guests a taste of what island living is all about.
