They have been selected as this years Homecoming Crown Bearers. Olivia is a student in Mrs. Stingley’s class and Caleb is a student in Mrs. Pippitt’s class. HOMECOMING – The Homecoming Pep Rally will be on Friday, September 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the Old Gym. The football game will be at 7:00 p.m. The Laurel-Concord Coleridge Bears will be playing Ponca. NO SCHOOL – We will not be having school on Monday, September 30th – Teacher In-Service or on Friday, October 25th – Fall Break. PICTURE DAY – School pictures will be on Thursday, October 3rd. Picture envelopes will be sent home the week of September 23rd. Picture envelopes should be returned by Tuesday, October 1st. If you do not wish to purchase a packet, please keep in mind we will still have your child’s picture taken for our K-4 school poster. Students will only receive a class composite if a picture packet was purchased. NATIONAL STOMP OUT BULLYING DAY – will be on Monday, October 7th. Elementary students are encouraged to wear blue. For more information go to stompoutbulling.org. VOLUNTEERS – Reading volunteers are needed for the 1st – 4th grades. These volunteers are very important to the reading success of our students. Our volunteers are scheduled for ½ half to 1 hour a week. For further information contact Stephanie Petersen at 402-256-3730. COLDER WEATHER – is approaching. We go outside if the temperature is 10° or higher. Please remember to send appropriate winter gear with your children to school: winter coats, snow boots, mittens and hats. MILK TICKETS AND LUNCH PRICES - Milk tickets are for the afternoon milk break and are not covered by the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Milk tickets are $10.00 for 20 punches. Lunch prices are $2.10. Breakfast prices are $1.50. Seconds are $1.00 each and Orange Juice with lunch is an additional $.50. When sending lunch money, please remember to include your child’s name and how you would like the money divided. COAT CLOSET is now Open. LAUREL MEET THE STAFF My name is Arianne Conley. I am excited to serve as the school nurse for Laurel-Concord and Coleridge Schools. It has been great getting to meet with the students and staff and I really appreciate the warm welcome I have received. I live in Wakefield, NE with my husband Matt and three children Alexander 16, Zoe 13 and Ella 9. I graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing from St. Luke's College of Nursing in Sioux City, IA in 1999 and then obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Creighton University. I have been working as a school nurse at the Tower School in Wayne, NE since 2006 and have also served patients in the acute care, long-term care and clinic settings. I look forward to meeting the health and wellness related needs of the LCC students starting with health screenings that will take place the second week of October.
